What Are the Choices After Seat Allotment?

Once the allotted seat is displayed, candidates must select one of the four available options. Each choice carries a different implication for admission and further rounds.

  • Choice 1: Satisfied with the allotted seat and want to join. No further rounds will be offered.
  • Choice 2: Not satisfied with the seat but ready to accept it. Better options will be considered in later rounds.
  • Choice 3: Want to try for a better seat in the next round. The current seat is not confirmed.
  • Choice 4: Not satisfied and wish to exit the counselling process entirely.

Candidates who opt for Choice 1 must pay the admission fee and complete document verification within the notified window. Those choosing other options must monitor the KEA portal for the next round schedule.

Who Was Eligible for the Round 1 Allotment?

Only candidates who cleared PGCET 2026 and filled their option entry within the specified window were considered. The allotment was made based on merit rank, category, reservation, and choice priority.

Seats were offered across MBA, MCA, ME, MTech, and MArch streams. Both Karnataka and non-Karnataka candidates were included as per the eligibility rules laid down by KEA.

How to Complete Admission After Allotment?

Candidates who accept the allotted seat must complete a two-step admission process. Both steps are mandatory to secure the seat.

  1. Pay the prescribed admission fee online through the KEA portal.
  2. Report to the allotted institution with the required original documents.

Required documents include the PGCET admit card, scorecard, allotment order, qualifying degree marks card, transfer certificate, and category certificate where applicable.

Why This Matters

Karnataka PGCET is the single gateway to state-quota PG seats in top institutions like NITK Surathkal and PES University. The Round 1 final allotment locks in the majority of confirmed admissions before subsequent rounds.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Log in to the KEA portal and check the Round 1 final seat allotment result.
  2. Download and print the allotment order for records.
  3. Select one of the four choices within the notified deadline.
  4. If accepting the seat, pay the admission fee online through the portal.
  5. Arrange all original documents required for institutional reporting.
  6. Report to the allotted college within the reporting window.
