Maharashtra Board Supplementary Exams 2020: Issue Arises Over No COVID 19 Guidelines; Check Details Here

The issue between the state education board and exam centers, about bearing the sanitization costs for the upcoming Maharashtra Board supplementary exams has not yet been solved.

Although the Maharashtra Board supplementary exams is about to commence in two weeks but still no guidelines have been issued by the state board.

Ravikant Deshpande, The Nagpur divisional board secretary gave a statement saying that they still have time in Maharashtra Board Supplementary exams 2020.

Deshpande said that the Maharashtra board supplementary exams are starting from November 20 and they will announce and share all necessary information with examination centers in advance.

A detailed brief will be provided after the meeting with the exam board which is to be held soon, Despande stated.

However, the exam centers want the issue of the fund to be resolved as soon as possible.

Ashok Gavhankar, general secretary of Vidarbha Junior College Teachers Association said that last month they had raised the issue through the media. 

The exam board responded by saying that internal meetings are going on for Maharashtra Board Supplementary Exams 2020 and they will be taking decisions soon.

Now there are only two weeks left before the exams and still, no decision has been made.

 After choosing the exam center, funds to cover the sanitization cost will be demanded first, said Gavhankar.

Despite stating that the board will sort out all the issues in advance in a smooth way and details will be provided to exam centers.

Gavhankar also suggested that to solve the issue the board should seek favor from schools and junior colleges with a strong financial background.

Gavhankar said "Maharashtra Board Supplementary exams have very few students appearing. The number will be hardly around 10% of those appearing in the summer exam. Since the logistic requirement is less, board officials will reach out only to those who won't have problems in funding the COVID 19 sanitization cost".

Junior colleges which are attached to degree college are in a better financial situation so they can manage the exam costs. 

Some schools which have junior colleges attached to it and informal tie-ups with coaching institutes could tap into these reserves.
