The Madras Institute of Technology (MIT), Chennai, has issued the BTech admission reporting notice for candidates allotted seats through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) Counselling 2026. The official notice is available on the institute’s website at mitindia.edu.
Candidates allotted seats at MIT Chennai must report to the MIT campus in Chromepet, Chennai. The reporting window will remain open from July 27 to July 30, 2026. Only candidates who have received an allotment for MIT Chennai need to appear in person.
MIT Chennai is a constituent campus of Anna University, Tamil Nadu. The institute offers BTech programmes across nine engineering specialisations. Admission is granted based on the TNEA merit list, choice filling and seat allotment.

Who Must Report to MIT Chennai?
Only candidates who have received an allotment order for MIT Chennai must report to the campus. The allotment order is issued by the TNEA counselling authority at Anna University.
Candidates allotted seats at other institutes must report to their respective campuses instead of MIT Chennai.
Failure to complete the reporting process within the prescribed window may result in the cancellation of the allotted seat. The cancelled or forfeited seat may then be added to the vacancy pool for the next counselling round.
How to Complete Reporting at MIT Chennai?
Candidates must visit the MIT Chennai campus between July 27 and July 30, 2026. They should carry all required original certificates along with self-attested photocopies.
The physical presence of the candidate is mandatory for document verification and admission confirmation.
Candidates must also pay the first-year tuition fee during the reporting process. The exact fee amount will be mentioned in the TNEA provisional allotment order. The accepted payment methods are provided in the official reporting notification.

MIT Chennai BTech Programmes on Offer
MIT Chennai admits students to nine BTech specialisations through the TNEA counselling process. The programmes cover computer science, electronics, aerospace, automobile and production-related engineering streams.
The duration of every BTech programme is four years. MIT Chennai offers BTech specialisations in Aerospace Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Instrumentation Engineering, Production Technology, Rubber and Plastics Technology, and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
