MP: School Education Minister Puts Reopening Of Schools On Hold, Check Details Here

Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister, Inder Singh Parmar has put on hold for resuming the primary and middle schools in the state. 

The state School Education Minister has informed that as of now the primary and middle schools won't be reopened, due to the continuing threat of the Covid-19 in the state. 

“The MP government isn't ready to risk the life of the primary as well as middle school students even after October 15, 2020. If anything happens to the child, the parents will blame the state government,” said Parmar.

Recently, the Centre issued guidelines where it was mentioned that educational institutions can commence from October 15 in the non-containment zones. 

And it was up to the state government to decide on whether to restart the institutions by following the SOPs.

Schools have been partially reopened in Madhya Pradesh for the classes of 9 to 12 students from September 21 with the written consent from their parents. There are nearly 1.50 lakhs schools including the private schools in the state. 

While the state government is reluctant to resume the functioning of the schools, the parents are hesitant to send their children, as the chance of the student getting infected will be high in the schools.

Nitin Saxena, Bhopal district education officer said that out of 40,000 students in the 132 government higher secondary schools in the district, only 5000 students have been allowed to attend the partial classes by their parents. 

As per the reports, A total of around 1,600 positive cases are being reported every single day in Madhya Pradesh.
