Earlier in 2023, Former Higher Education Minister, Rohit Pujari announced that the government will make Wi-Fi accessible to students of all colleges, universities, and technical institutions across Odisha from the academic session 2023-24.
In addition to this, every student will get 1 GB of data every day, he added. Apart from this, the BJD government promised in its election platform for the 2019 assembly and general elections that it would provide free Wi-Fi and 1GB of data to students in all institutions and universities.
