Telangana State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET) will be holding the supplementary exams for diploma students from July 3, 2020. The examination will be of 2 hours.

Many students are not in acceptance of the state government decision as they demanded the board to postpone the examinations due to the COVID-19 crisis across Telangana and the likelihood of lockdown in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits.

One of the candidates Hafeez Mohammed said, "Many students like me have to travel to different districts to appear for the examinations. There are transportation limitations here and the likelihood of another lockdown which will make the situation worse."

As per the government norms, the principals of all the institutions have been directed to maintain the social distancing norms while making the seating arrangements.

The board has also asked students to carry their own hand sanitizer in transparent bottles, cover their nose and mouth with mask/cloth, and above all maintain the social distance inside and outside the examination centers.

On the other hand, students are fearful that attending the examinations may further spread the COVID-19. One of the students has even asked, "When the government can postpone SSC exams then why not the diploma exams be postponed? They should not risk our lives like this."

SBTET Chairman Navin Mittal said, "The number of diploma students appearing for the supplementary exams is ver less. In some examinations barely 10 students appear throughout the state and in others not more than 500. So there is not a problem to maintain social distance in such low count. Students should not fret about their safety."
