Yes, it's true that NIT Silchar is a ragging-free campus. There is a harmonious bond between juniors and seniors. The seniors are always ready to help you in any way. There is a very strong and functional student union body. The positive ambiance here protects all the juniors from being harassed in any way.
The Gymkhana Union Body is the student union body that caters to all types of complaints lodged by students. It acts as a bridge between the students and the authorities.
The seniors organize the general as well as the branch freshers for the juniors. The seniors are very hardworking and organize a number of events like the technical fest Tecnoesis, the NIT Conclave, and the cultural fest Incandescence. It’s the seniors who undertake the task of organizing events as well as encouraging the juniors to participate.
Overall, the seniors play a big role in grooming, guiding, and encouraging the juniors and helping them grow as a person. So ragging on campus is out of the question here.

What should be my strategy towards study for branch change from mining to CSE at IIT BHU?
- Every IIT has that handful of students who took up an average branch under the pretext of changing their branch in the future. If you are one of them and are seeking guidance in the same, this answer is for you. I won't mention any complex strategies and will stick to the basics
- Attend your classes: Many IITians underestimate lectures and tend to either skip them or pay no attention during classes. Trust me attending classes makes a whole lot of difference that can be felt during exams.
- Go to Tutorials: Students consider this childish and don't go to tutorials considering them useless. However, this will bring a big change too.
- Revise regularly: Lastly, whatever you study, revise it regularly or your efforts will go in vain.
Many seniors may advise you that grades aren't that important, don't pay heed to them. Grades are very crucial for a branch manager don't let them make you believe otherwise. Lastly, be sincere towards your goal and stay committed to it.
How is the placement in NIT Jamshedpur for mechanical?
NIT Jamshedpur offers a good placement for B.Tech Mechanical. The students receive placement offers both from IT and core companies, for good enough packages.
Some of the companies that recruit Mechanical students from NIT Jamshedpur are- TATA, John Deere and JK Tyres, among others. BPCL recruits the department students at high packages, and so, it has a special place in this list.
During 2023, B.Tech Mechanical recorded 100% placements at the college. The highest package was 21 LPA, and the average package was 10.25 LPA for B.Tech Mechanical, for that placement season.

Most of the people have suggested that overall all the three colleges are good and you will not be facing any problem if you take admission in any one of them. The NITIE College is good operations management, MDI is good for General management and Human resource management and IIFT is good for International trade. So, it depends upon you which branch you are interested in.

MDI:
- This college is fairly consistent in getting top 10 rankings.
- There are various kinds of live projects in the college which will help you in understanding the working culture in the corporate industry. Some of this live project will also allow formulating business strategies.
- You will be having access to great infrastructure such as Bloomberg terminal and EuroMonitor database.
- Along with the vibrant campus you will also be getting right guidance from Professors like Prof Bakshi , Prof Chatterjee and Prof. Mitra who will help you in getting the right path.
- You will also be getting great placement opportunities in various fields.
NITIE:
- Operations management in this college is very good.
- It is located in Mumbai and because of this location that will get lots of live projects in the industries.
- The college also provides good placement in the field of supply chain management, operations management, etc.
- This college also has a good alumni base. There is not much flexibility in the placements and the rest depends upon you.
IIFT Kolkata:
- It is one of the greatest colleges with economics and trade as its pillars.
- If you are looking for branches like international business and operations management then this is the best college.
- There is a slight disadvantage between Kolkata and Delhi branches but the placements in both locations are similar.

Overall IIFT-K is only good for trade and economics. For placements in finance, marketing and consulting roles MDI is a much better college than IIFT K and for operations management, NITIE is the best.

School of Planning and Architecture Delhi is the best architecture school in the country. To get selected for admission you will need to have a good rank. Securing a rank of around 400-500 should fetch you a seat at SPA Delhi. But you should keep in mind that the cutoff varies each year. In 2021, the opening cutoff for B.Arch was 212 (General).
Is it possible to get a seat for PG at AIIMS Delhi in radiology for a doctor who got an MBBS degree from PGIMS Rohtak or another state medical college?
Yes, it is possible to get a seat for a postgraduate (PG) program at AIIMS Delhi, in radiology. I have a friend who studies in the ECE branch at NIT Warangal. I will break down his overall experience into simpler aspects
Academics: The curriculum and academic life at NIT Warangal for ECE students is a bit more challenging than others. Some semesters have too many courses and it’s difficult to get free time. The grades are given a lot of importance and students face tough competition. Also, the faculty is not very approachable.
- Campus life: The campus life of students of all branches is similar. Equal opportunities and facilities are offered and students experience a productive ambiance where they can work on their passions.
- Hostels : The hostel facilities are top-notch and both old and new hostels are available. Students get a home-like feel in these cozy buildings and make friends for life.
- Mess food: Mess food is better than food served in intermediate hostels. However, students can opt for eating out if the food in the mess is unsatisfactory. The eateries outside serve decent food at low prices.
- Sports : The sports culture here is not very prominent and you won’t be forced to be involved in any such activities.
- Extracurricular : A number of clubs promote extracurriculars with ECEA being the most active association.
- Peer group: Your batchmates will be the most hardworking and smartest people in the institute so peer group quality should be the last thing to worry about.

How is the MAKAUT in-house campus and hostel?
MAKAUT's in-house campus is an affordable government technical college that has only IT and CSE for the engineering branch. Earlier I had this preconceived notion that government colleges are better than private ones which later proved to be wrong once I got to know about MAKAUT in-campus college. However, it is true that your skills and dedication matter more than the institute that being said, here are a few pros and cons of the institute to help you make a wise decision
Pros
- The institute charges very reasonable fees around ?70,300 for the first year and the hostel charges are also very moderate.
- There are no on-campus events, fests, or clubs meaning more free time for coding and acquiring other skills.
- The workload is very light and some subjects don't even have classes.
- Getting good grades here is very easy and sometimes getting a 9+ CGPA is possible without studying much.
- The institute boasts of a beautiful infrastructure and facilities such as libraries, wifi, and shops inside the campus.
Cons
- The campus life is dull and very inactive as there are no fests, events activities, and clubs to make the ambiance dynamic.
- The placement scenario is average and internships offered have a low pay scale. If you have completed an internship you might get placed with a package ranging between 4-10 LPA which is very low in comparison to institutes like IEM or Heritage and Techno India.
- The institute does not prepare you for higher studies as the academic environment here is pathetic and teachers give free marks in internals.
If you have no financial constraints IEM or Heritage are better options else KGEC and MAKAUT in-house campus are the only options with low fees.
