Remarks

I joined the SVS College, for my B.E. in Civil Engineering. I regret my decision for the most part, the reason for which I’ll be explaining in this review. The pros of the college include its affordable fee, while rest all factors lies in the ‘cons’ section.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course structure was good. They keep on upgrading the syllabus, as per latest trends. But the industry exposure was limited. Also the lack of experienced faculty, left us hanging in the middle. The course was not sufficient enough to make us familiar with the practicals. Exams were held biannually.

Placement Experience

3

The placements are good only for the meritorious students, only. The placement of our department is quite poor. Majority of the companies visiting the campus for the placement process are from IT domain. Overall, industry exposure is limited

Fee Structure And Facilities

Probably, the only good thing about college is its affordability. The fee is quite nominal for the Bachelor’s program. The quality of service offered by the college delivers value for money.

Campus Life

3.5

The infrastructure is good, though wi-fi connectivity is very poor. Library is also small. Canteen could have more options. The college don’t emphasise too much on sports and other extracurricular activities. The college also have basic medical facilities.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel is just okay. Most of the rooms have four sharing. The mess food is not something I would recommend. But the hostel fee is not much either, so it’s okay.

Admission

The college didn’t have the option of online application during my admission. So I physically went to the college for the application process. My TNEA score was good, so I was confident of my selection.

Faculty

3

The professors are more focussed on the marks, rather than knowledge. Industrial visits are also limited. Most of the faculty members are concerned about wrapping up the syllabus. There are no guest lectures either.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
