Remarks

Our college is an extraordinary college with some fabulous faculties and a good many students with average merit but the progress is still alive. Our college can make you thoughtful to fulfil your dream.

Placement Experience

4

Job opportunity and placements are quite good for Chemistry hons students but in this field they have to face competition with theis seniors like MSc In Chemistry. Though there is a chance for them to get some opportunities in Water Treatment Laboratory, Fertilisers Industry, Animal feed industry. No our college doesn’t provide such internship but there is a collaboration like with the University. They jointly provide Internship.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible, It was not as much as expensive like other universities. Our University situated in Midnapore that is not a metro city. So the fees structure was feasible for each and every students, moreover the was rebate on the fees charge for the economically backward students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes threre were many scholarships. They provide a scholarship amount for every students get admission in Master's degree with a minimum 60% marks in graduation. They provide discount in fees for Economicaly backward students. There were more scholarships but i can't get those recall.

Campus Life

5

Sports are really good. We have an outstanding stadium like playground with a facility to arrange cricket, football and also a basketball in the same ground. That's why Garhbeta College earned a lots of awards in both the team games and individual games in recent times also. Our college were able to organise Inter-University (India)Cricket tournament one time and in the recent past our college also organised inter-college football tournaments. Labs are also excellent especially Chemistry and Physics.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they are very much helpful. Alumni provides us current situations, they shared their experiences with us. They arrange the meeting every year consulting with the college and the teachers. Moreover they contribute for our Department a lot.

Admission

I got the admission in the year 2011. At first i had to fill up the college admission form. That time India was not so digital. I pick up the college admission form. My name was published in the list. I got the admission through counselling and depositing the fees.

Faculty

Faculty of my college was tremendously good. They were extraordinar, muti talented. They provide maximum helps to each and every students. There were three permanent Professors and 3 part time Professors in our Chemistry Department. They always try to motivate us with their involvement. They helped a lot in the practical work. Our head of the department was a practical person for a good many reasons. He always learn with his own way and we all enjoyed those days.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
