Remarks

Overall UIET is a nice college to study. But needs proper infrastructure and new faculty to make it excellent in terms of acedemics. Sports should be taken more seriously. Fee structure should not be incremented on regular basis.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course structure is excellent with both theoretical and practical knowledge. There are 2 mid semester exams of 30 marks each through which best out of 2 marks are choosen. And there's a final semester exam of 50 marks. And internal 20 marks by teacher based on quiz, attendance, behaviour. Which makes a total of 100 marks.

Placement Experience

4

Placements of UIET are quite satisfying with around 65-70% placement percentage. Many technical and non technical companies hire students from our college and provide a great package. Average package of our college is 4.5 lakh per annum.

College Events

4.5

There are various events that keep on going throughout the year. There are around 5-6 annual fests in the university in which there are both technical and cultural performances and tasks. There are different clubs in college that organize various events like dancing, singing, talent hunt, coding games, NGO helping and many more.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is 45,000 rupees per semester. Which is moderate. But can be decreased further as it is a government instituition. Hostel fee is 13,000 per annum with food bills excluded. Also there is an examination fee 2500 rupees which is to be paid every semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are various scholarships offered by college. 1) for child of single mother with less annual income. 2) for single girl child and parents having less family income. 3) EWS scholarship for weaker sections 4) merit cum means scholarship for parents having less income

Campus Life

2.5

There are various labs in college. Infrastructure of labs is a little bit old and need to be changed. Sports is not encouraged in college at a large extent which need to be fixed as it is important aspect for a college. Debates, MUN, fun games keeps going on throughout the year.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors of the college are really nice and helpful. From the very beginning, during the counselling session, they are helping alot of students to fill various forms for admission. Alumni network as in is not helping for feedback for next students.

Admission

Student has to score great rank in All India examination (JEE MAINS). Then after result has been commensed, student has to fill form for colleges in chandigarh (JACK FORM) through which student undergoes college counsellings.

Faculty

4

Faculty is kind of old and not ready to teach much. Need of new young recruitments that can explain the subject at the thought process of student level. But as a government instituition, facility is better than any other instituitions. In other matters, mostly teachers are adjusting and helping. 75% attendance is yet a cause of strictness from their side.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read
