Remarks

Great pocket friendly canteen facility also available. And the extra cost really depends on how far you live from the college and your mode of transportation. It is walkable from vidyavihar station and not very far from eastern express highway.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Since it is an autonomous college, and now own University, they decide the curriculum according to the basics and current trends. The exam pattern is very friendly. We have two small unit tests and one semester exam at the the end of the semester. This ensures regular studies. The grading pattern is also very good.

Placement Experience

4

Placements and job opportunities are very good provided the student has a deserving profile. There are so many extra curricular things happening which definitely add to profiles. The companies who visit are very nice. The process is smooth and the students are well informed about everything via email. Internships college doesn't provide directly. Students can intern under professors who are working on some research and get the internship certificate but that is without any stipend.

College Events

5

Abhiyantriki- Annual College Technical Fest with lots of fun and technical events and competitions, and guest lectures and displays. Maker Mela - A national level makera event which takes place annually and similar to abhiyantriki but on a bigger scale. Skream- Annual national level sports festival where teams from all over india visit and participate in over 30 sports over the course of 4 days. Symphony- Cultural festival of the college where teams participate in Cultural events like dance, drama, singing etc. And there is concerts and comedy nights. Other than all this, there's many small days like Fresher's, Farewell, Womens day celebration, Garba Evening during Navratri, Flag Hoistings, inter department sports, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

FEE Structure is not feasible easily as such as it is a private institute and will increase more as now it is a university. But there's various efforts inside college to help deserving students. There is one complete working committee dedicated to it which comprises of students and teachers. It is called PUSH.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college helps Students in getting all kinds of scholarships. There are state government, Central government scholarships based on merits, EBC class, community, talent, sports, caste. The college made sure to give regular reminders about the same vie emails. And helps students in the process.

Campus Life

5

All the laboratories are extremely well equipped and you can get hands on practice anytime necessary. From lathe machines to chemical labs to mechanical labs with huge turbine pumps, automobile labs with engines, to 3D printer, everything is great. Talking about sports, the somaiya campus has many colleges inside and is huge. We have basketball courts, tennis courts, full size football field, full length 400m athletic track, national level indoor badminton court, carrom room, table tennis and chess rooms, cricket ground, rink football turf, squash court, etc everything well equipped and well maintained.

Alumni/Alumna

All the students are helpful and easy to approach. We have a complete seperate department called alumni cell which works on alumni related activities throughout the year. They conduct various events and keep alumni informed throughout what's happening in college. The professors also seem to stay in touch with alumni students.

Admission

Applied online in Minority Quota on basis of 12th Std and JEE exam scores. Merit list was put up. Went to the college on my date and time alloted. Got the field i was interested in through a very smooth hassle free admission process. No wastage of time.

Faculty

4

I cannot really speak for the faculty of all the departments but the faculty of our mechanical department was very good. Very friendly and approachable. The back office staff was also great and helped out students whenever necessary. Principal interacted with students regularly too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Placement Experience:

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
