The college is good and social life is nice but the teaching staff and office staff especially are very slow.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was okay nothing worth but it is a better option. Well attendance structure is very strict here and won't allow you to sit in exams if below 75 percent. Discipline wise the college is nice, just that way too much dress code.
Placement Experience
The placement committee is amazing. Along with that, the partnership of somaiya with different companies is really good career-wise
College Events
The fresher's party then. Then a lot of singing events and concerts. Utsav event. Dance faceoff. Being in somaiya helps one get the best social life. Many actors and actresses have visited somaiya and a lot to learn about Management if one is in the committee.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible but there's a lot of caste system. If an open category has to pay 15000 a year, the obc/st/sc others have to pay a lot less for example 2000/3000. Gujarati quota is also provided. This caste system is really unfair and this goes to every college.
Fees and Financial Aid
Nope, I didn't opt for any loan or scholarship. I don't know the procedures or anything. I have no idea about them.
Campus Life
Well, I guess the girls in my college were more than the boys. 70 percent girls and 30 percent boys. Extracurricular activities were nice. Enjoyable and we're good to go. Sports were throughout the year. Carrom room is a nice and fun place and chilled out place to hang.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network was good. Seniors are very helpful and they arrange a lot of sports and events. Mostly they have the overall knowledge about the college.
Admission
This college had an amazing reputation as compared to others also the faculty was well educated and had good teaching experience. The campus placement of SK Somaiya is amazing but the office staff does not cooperate with students. Sports and events are a great plus point of being in this college. One can enjoy their college life here.
Faculty
Faculty is okay. Not all professors are worth your time. But there are few who have a lot of knowledge. Exams oriented teaching is what they do. Few teachers had industry experience but not all. The average age of teachers was 35-60. But overall okay if one attends the lecture.
