Engineering from Techno India salt lake

The extra curricular activities and fests are very good. The college fees is not very high so it's good. There are ac classrooms and good library facilities. The faculty and placements for the core branches of engineering can be better. The lack of a big playground affects the big sports activities from being held inside the college.

The focus is not much on research here as it is not a grade A college. But the course structure overall is good and well spread over the 4 years. There are 2 unit tests in every semester and then the practical exams and main semester exam is there. It is based on maulana abul kalam azad university. So one lab is daily apart from theory classes so the day is usually not much hectic.

Placement and job opportunities again depend upon the branch like in CSE/IT many good companies also visited like Microsoft, intel, mcafee and many others apart from mass recruiters like TCS, cognizant, capegemini etc. for my mechanical branch apart from these mass recruiters some core companies like tvs, rdc concrete, elgi, delloite also visited. Total 23 companies visited for our mechanical branch. So the job opportunities are ok for my branch and good for CSE/IT branch. Ovell the college had around 80% placements.

There are many events in the college. Mainly being the technical fest edge, the cultural fest anakhronas, the social fest filanthropia. Apart from these there are also various departmental fests like our department had mechotsav. Various activities are performed in these fests and various competitions Are also carried out. It's really interesting. Our technical fest and cultural fest are very big and popular. In edge various different colleges also come for participation. And in the cultural fest various celebrities like arman Malik, ash king, kartik aryan, tvf team, etc have come.

The fee structure is feasible as per the private college. It's neither very less nor very expensive. The fee structure is around 40000 per semester. And there are total 8 semesters in the course. So total cost here is less than 4 lakhs.

For the west bengal people or people having West Bengal domicile can avail tution fee waiver in which they will have to pay very less fee per semester. Around 26000 only per semester. Others can apply for some scholarship if they are from backward class with proper proof certificates.

Gender ratio is good. And again it depends on the branch like in the mechanical branch we had only 2 girls. But in other branches the ratio was quite good. Extracurricular activities are there. There are different societies like the robotics society, the dance club, the fashion club and the literature club.

No i haven't opted for the hostel. As the hostel is not inside the campus. Its around 2 km far from the campus. And from what I have heard the hostel facilities are not that good. The food especially is not that good.

The seniors here are very good and helpful towards the Junior. We have the alumini coming in our departmental fests and Guiding us through there job experiences and telling us what we can do to excell in our branch.

I got the admission through the wbjee entrance exam for engineering. My rank was 7603 and according to my preferences i got the mechanical branch in techno india salt lake. Their is an online counseling for the admission process in which based on your rank and preferences you get a college and branch of BTech. There is no interview. Based on overall rankings this college felt good for the BTech course especially.

Normally the teachers are well qualified here. But not all the teachers are very experienced. Like my friends in CSE/IT branch had much experienced faculties than i had in my mechanical branch. In my branch few teachers were only experienced with qualifications like mtech or phd. So the faculty here in my branch was just ok.
