NITC Glimpses

Ours is a National College. People from different background from different parts of india do come to study in college.I can't say that The Faculty in our College is too good. But they are quite okay. The faculties of the first year Maths are too poor. Most of them are ADHOC. Some Faculty treat the students as their own children, being liberal to them, while some at the same time just know how to teach, not to mingle with the students. Rest all branches dont have that much placement opportunity as compared to CSE. Positive 1.One of the biggest quality is the exposure that a student gets while studying in this college.The lectures are of high standards and the professors are of international demand. 2.An another good quality is the placement that we get from this college.people from across Kerala always praise the high quality of placements that we get in this college Negative 1.The lecture classes are very much one way, rather than being more interactive 2.Mosquito in some hostels

The course curriculum is quite hectic for B.arch student as we are burdened with submissions. Mostly we are forced to work throughout the night to meet the deadline. The institute offers following Under Graduate programmes: B.Tech: Biotechnology, Chemical engineering, Civil engineering, Computer science & engineering, Electrical & electronics engineering, Electronics & communication engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechanical engineering and Production engineering. B.Arch: Architecture The institute offers following Post Graduate programmes: M.Plan: Architecture M.Tech: Chemical engineering, Civil engineering, Computer science & engineering, Electrical & electronics engineering, Electronics & communication engineering, Engineering physics, Mechanical engineering and Production engineering.

Our college has its own placement training department where students get trained to attend internship and placements. We had a high lead of placement rate every academic year. International companies like Dell, LnT, WIPRO etc. are also providing placement offers to our college. Many companies offer different kinds of internships with stipends provided and there is a chance for the interns to get placed in the same company.

Ragam - It is one of the biggest cultural management fest of south India. The footfall are usually in lakhs each year. Tathva - The technical fest of NIT Calicut. It is growing each year and is becoming famous among the college

Fees for an entire semester is paid from the starting of semester itself. Around 1.5 lakhs rs should be paid for regular student who joins in 2020(only if fees didn't hike). Reserved students get relaxation in there hostel fees and college fees. Non residential Indians students have an equivalent exam called DASA, which is also an eligibility criteria for getting admission.but they have to pay more fees, almost 5 times more.

Education Loans are available under various schemes for attending the course. Kerala govt. is providing e-grantz for reserved and handicapped students. There are many other scholarships for financially backward students. NIT Calicut has its own SBI branch where getting a loan is much easier.

There is no scarcity for extracurricular activities if we are up for it. There are annual sports competitions and daily sports periods to look after our health. The major events are TATHVA and RAGAM. There are department wise events and programs for TATHVA and an Architectural fest ADIZYA will also be conducted during TATHVA week. There will be Pro Shows at night and technical programs and competitions in the morning. During RAGAM there will be cultural programs, competitions and night shows.

Hostels are amazing in this college. We are getting the best facilities under cheapest rate among other Kerala hostels. There are varieties of mess where we can join any of them every month. Fees are very affordable in comparison with the service.

The seniors are really helpful. They give us an insight of the outside world after we pass out. They are helpful when we are trying to find an off-campus placement and this network helps us to have mentoring from seniors. We get lots of leads in taking decisions in our future career from their motivation. Some of the elder seniors who are in a well position had offered opportunities to the students.

The permanent faculty are experienced and can deliver top class teaching. But most the Adhoc teachers are inexperienced and the teaching quality is poor. They are choosing faculties by highly sorting out from the best. Faculties in NITC are well qualified and well experienced. Each subject has its own specialized faculties, who have PhD specialisation in these subject.
