Remarks

I will suggest to do opt for CS or IT in this college as they bring in large placement offers and the future is all about them other than these a person could opt for ECE as it also evolving in coming future.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

To be frank the course is very outdated. Though AICTE is doing best to make sure the things taught in engineering colleges should be same as in IITs. They have changed grading system for new entrants. the labs of my college were totally chilled as none of the equipments were in working condition.

Placement Experience

2.5

Core mechanical companies were mainly three or four which consists of GNA, HERO, Ralco and Cheema Boilers other than that there wasn't any core company but mass recruiters came in large number and avg. Stipend for mechanical student was around 18k pm. Overall experience was fine. We had GD, personal interviews and technical interviews.

College Events

4

Technical events happen in even semester and it is totally internal event, total gathering is around total number of students on the campus. Cultural events happen in odd semester and our college is center for the same each alternate year. Students came from different college and talking about gathering it is such that there is no space to keep your foot. Rest events celebrated in school are sports, talent hunt for first year. Rest are freshers and farewell which is common culture among all the college's.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is totally feasible. The fee for the odd semester is around 50k and for the even semester it is around 35k. Similarly the hostel fee is different on your preference be it single room, double room or triple room. Both non ac and ac rooms are available.

Fees and Financial Aid

College keep regularly updated about the government scholarships and did helped students with financial problems. They reduced the college fee or hostel fee whichever was requested to college administration

Campus Life

4

Gender Ratio in mechanical was 75:0 And in other courses you could say 1:1 Timely workshops are conducted each semester in form of industry week and industrial visits are also done in the same week. Also, seminars, pep talk are conducted. Ethnicity is Western + Punjabi. There is no discrimination I had observed during my time in college on any basis such as race, sex. There is no political parties of students in college. College adminstration is very strict towards such activities. People of all types of economic status are there.

Hostel Facilities

4

There is lot of cleanliness in hostels. Sweepers came daily. Infrastructure is 9/10. The rooms were well painted and the washrooms were cleaned daily. Dustbins were kept at spots and rest is in hands of boarders.

Alumni/Alumna

We interacted with our seniors and they were helpful to us. The most dreaded thing in engineering college is ragging which is strictly prohibited in our campus and our seniors did kept that in mind. We also had guest lectures and seminars which helped us in understanding industry culture.

Admission

Admission Process is very simple. You just have to take your certificates upto 12th class and JEE main scorecard (if given). Otherwise it is not that much necessary. Earlier the admission process was done through online counseling conducted by PTU itself. But lately due to decrease in number of admissions as students are moving to abroad after 12th. DAVIET has made admission process very simple. Actually, my brother is a mechanical engineer and he asked me to do the same. If I haven't taken this course I would have done Computer Science Engineering or MSc. mathematics. Because these two were my favourites.

Faculty

5

Faculty of mechanical department is very good. The teacher's teaching style is good and they do help the students who really want to learn in whatever way possible. Faculty always welcome the students who have doubts. Research work is emphasized for projects or even if you want to do it on personal level. But it totally depend on Student how he wants to learn.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
