The college has a great infrastructure with air-conditioned classrooms, laboratories, library, etc. There is a proper code of conduct in terms of ethics and discipline. The college management is very particular about attendance and submissions.

The course curriculum and exam structure are very relevant and fair. The curriculum covers each and every thing that is totally suited for a job in the fashion industry. The Institute provides both theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject. There are many industrial visits organized for the students to learn more.

There is a placement cell in the college which helps the student to get placed in the industry. There is no compulsion for the student to get enrolled in the cell. There is a compulsory 6-week internship for the final year students which give them real-life experience in the industry.

There are various events which are conducted throughout the year. There is Maximum participation by the students of the college. There are inter-college fests open to all students without any favouritism. The college also celebrates all the major festivals. The students along with the teachers take the initiative to organise various campaigns like Women's Day walk, plastic-free college, an awareness drill on "No Smoking", etc.

The fee structure is feasible as compared to other colleges. It changes every year as per inflation. The modes of payment are bank deposit, NEFT, etc. There are no additional fees in order to secure an admission. There is complete transparency in the fee-breakdown.

There are no scholarship opportunities provided by the college to the students. Also, the college does not provide any education loan.

J.D. Birla Institute (main campus) is an all-girls college. There are various workshops and competitions held in the college. There are seminars and guest lectures conducted by experts in the industry. There are many labs in the college like CAD labs, sewing labs, weaving studio, dyeing & printing labs, draping studio, etc. We have annual sports that take place every year where there is active participation by the teachers, students and the staff members.

There is a proper alumni network. The senior students help us in every way possible. There are alumni events that take place once a year.

I opted for this course because I wanted to make a career in Textiles and Fashion. The reason for choosing this institution as it is the 2nd best all-girls college in North-East India. The faculty here is very experienced. The Institution is well known for its discipline and ethics.

We have teachers who have completed their M.Sc and PhD. The teachers put in their efforts to evaluate the class and teach according. They use PPTs and real-life examples to teach better. they are always ready to help us even after college hours. They hold various certifications and industry-experience.
