Remarks

The above analysis is only based on my department (civil).overall sucks for civil but wouldn’t actually mattered if I were in any other engineering college in India. The whole education system is messed up.

Course Curriculum Overview

0.5

Civil engineering is actually a really good course if you like it.but the faculty is not knowledgeable enough I’d say.the exam is the same as it is in every other engineering college.but they just want to test our memory.it’s never practical not just here but any engineering college I'd say.I’ve heard some of the colleges are even worse cause they give you a material, study and you’ve to just write it in on a paper.

Placement Experience

0.5

Placements for civil is nil in any engineering college cause of the system these people follow. The knowledge that we are gaining is theoretical and of no use in the practical world. Why would companies hire and pay to teach you.Whatever we learn is of no use.If you want to learn you’ll have to do a lot of internships and visit actual sites.

College Events

2.5

They have a fest called UTSAV and it’s pretty good.the only good thing about our college ?.They have a lot of technical fests as well but you’ll have to work for it to have fun and learn something.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Merit is feasible cause of CET but management no clue.I’ve been paying 65000 from first year. The fee can be lower than this if you’ve secured a better rank in CET.Fees will be high if you’re a management student.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you belong to SC/ST you do get some scholarship and if you belong to SnQ then you do get a laptop and if you top in your department you get 10k every year.Loan facility I’ve not heard. The rest of the scholarships I’ve got no clue sorry.

Campus Life

2.5

The gender ratio is pretty good except for in civil and mechanical ??.the workshops are good too which are usually conducted during the technical fests.and the parties are fun too (or at least look fun on people’s ig stories) cause I’m not a party kinda person so never been to a party.they do have ethnic day and all.and the people are fun and nice here.never been abused racially nor been questioned about my ethnicity.nor judged by my economic status. The clubs too are fun.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel I’ve got no complaints regarding the cleanliness, accommodation and food. The WiFi is pretty good too.The only problem will be the in time if you like going out a lot.The in time during weekdays is 9:30pm and during weekends 10:30pm.They don’t provide dinner on Saturdays saying kids need to “go out and socialise” and then expect us to come back by 10:30 pm in Bangalore.I’d recommend to stay in hostel for a year or two and then move out with some friends.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are fun to be with if you’re an extrovert.or at least talk a little.they DO NOT rag any students.they’ll help you in a lot of ways if you’re in good terms with them. You actually need them to get thourough the college academic.they’ll help you get in the core team of a fest if you’re into management stuff.

Admission

I got in thourough CET (state examination - Karnataka to be specific).I’ve always wanted civil engineering after school.Heard this college was the best in Karnataka for civil. The admission process thourough CET itself is a little complicated but they’ve specified each and every step in their website

Faculty

1.5

Till date I’ve only met two professors in my department who possess knowledge and know how to teach the subjects. There are lecturers in our department who have specialised in their respective fields but the head weight is greater I’d say.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
