Remarks

College was founded in 1948. Buildings are old. Beautiful, yet old. Well managed, yet old. This turns off many people from the get go. However, they have built multitude of new buildings on the sidelines. but the main building is still 1948 construction. BEAUTIFUL but a bit old.Management is nice. nothing to praise but nothing too bad to blame either.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

BVM is an autonomous institute meaning courses are updated for each batch. Most courses are up-to-date and past students' feedbacks are generally incorporated to make new curriculums. There's compulsory OPEN ELECTIVES (meaning ppl from all branches can (and have to) take atleast 2 courses from other streams). Some people dislike this but I'm a fan because: You get to meet a lot of new people. You get to understand other branches more intricately. In first year, you get courses from other branches as well. This, based on past students' feedback, is not that much. ie. Instead of the same curriculum for all first year students, they are having slightly modified curriculum for different branches. Eg. CS students may get only 1 subject from civil but a couple each from electrical and electronics.

Placement Experience

4.5

For CS, placements are disproportionately better. 5lpa is the average compensation. For other branches, placements are close to 80% ( I don't really know. this number is coming off the top of my head) Good training is provided for both placements as well as competitive exams like the GRE, GATE, etc. Instructors from coaching institutes are called on campus to teach. That is really amazing. You get free GATE coaching worth 20-30k on campus. (these classes are usually held on weekends though.) Yes, for people coming from vernacular schools, they do have spoken English and polishing sessions. I never went so I can't say anything.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Extremely affordable. It's a Grant-in-aid college. Total program cost would have been less than 10k inr for 4 years tution. Excluding hostel and living costs. They used to accept over-the-counter cash fees. but have stopped since demonitization. Now you have to make bank transfer.Yes. there's a clear breakdown of fee amount. There are NRI seats. I don't know much about that. There are additional Alumini Association membership fees, security deposit. But that's not more than a couple thousand bucks combined. and deposits are refundable too.

Fees and Financial Aid

College offers Chief Minister Scholarship for economically backward classes. They are means-cum-merit scholarships. I didn't qualify for any scholarship. But they give about 3k per month stipend. Also, for people going for industrial training, they offer 200/day stipend NO-QUESTIONS-ASKED. Other scholarships are also available given be different trusts. but their eligibility may include coming from a certain region or caste.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio is 60-40 in software branches. For mech, civil, production, industrial, automotive, you'd be lucky to spot a girl. Student groups are very friendly and inclusive. Gujarat is a dry state so we party on thepla and khakhoura. Extremely diverse student body and a lot of artist groups as well. No matter what your idealogy is, you'll certainly find a group subscribing to that and if not, hey create one.

Alumni/Alumna

Best Alumini network in Gujarat state. Alumini actually donate upwards of 1cr annually to the institute. Also, immediate seniors and super seniors are very helpful. ZERO ragging or anything like that. Mostly studious children come here.

Admission

For Gujarat students: 1. You give the 12th boards(cbse and state board, icse same procedure) and give the JEE(Main) 2. Your board sends normalised scores to JACPC (joint admission commission for professional courses) so does cbse (for jee) 3. JACPC creates merit list(cbse; icse; state. all boards combined). Generally, cutoff rank is 1000 for computer engineering. 4. Online counselling rounds. 5. If you get BVM, you go and pay the registration fees.

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I have a great interest in coding and this field is based on coding so i choosed the computer field. -The curriculum of the college are based on the things which will help us in future for real world application. -The way they i based on pdf means they make a full note of a subject in pdf and explain that and which makes clear to us so I don't think they should change. -There is a enough time to study for exams it depends on us how me manage it and the difficulty level is medium it is based on what we have understood till now in studies we have studied.
