Entrance Preview
There was no entrance exams in those days. The admissions were purely based on the academic merit. Mathematics was my most preferred subject and hence my decision to do the Graduation and Post Graduation courses in Mathematics in this college. My exemplary performance at both the levels proved my decision right.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was excellently designed. Lot worked examples were given, explaining vividly every nuances of the point of study.Then there was enough exercise sums for one to practice.
College Events
There used to be annual day celebrations every year.This was preceded by sports and other cultural competitions. The participation was very good.There is exclusive grounds for football,cricket, basketball, hockey, etc for boys and girls separately.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college by itself did not offer any such thing. But there were lot of (memorials) proficiency prizes and fellowships instituted.I myself was the recipient of several proficiency and cash prizes for my outstanding performance in Mathematics.There were state level and national level merit and loan scholarships offered. I got National loan scholarship for Degree course and was awarded the National Merit scholarship for the P.G.course.
Campus Life
There was lot of opportunities for extracurricular, sports, debates, etc and they were all well organized and conducted.There was no such related issues.
Hostel Facilities
Of course I was a day scholar throughout my 5 years of study in the college. But I know that there hostel facilities for boys and girls separately. The hostels for the girls were in campus disjoint fro the college campus while those for the boys were inside the large college campus itself. The inmates used to be happy about the stay and mess food and charges too.There used to be canteen facilities also for all inside the college campus, where the food served were good and reasonably priced.
Alumni/Alumna
No alumni. In the absence of any alumni, there was no occasion for any interaction or comments. All seniors, whom I met occasionally, had only a feeling of pride that they have passed out of this institution.Even now I say with all sense of pride that I passed out of this Institution at that time.
Faculty
The faculties were well qualified and experienced and very good in their delivery of the lectures. They were ready to explain again and again and clarify all your doubts, even in the middle of the class itself.
