Remarks

Not that much good for studies. For the rest it is the best.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum in our college is good.Exam structure is also good. There will be 5 marks for 90% plus attendance, Continues assessment having 25% weightage, Midterm exam having 20% weightage and end term exam having 50% weightage. For some subjects mid term will be of MCQ and for some subjects it is written. In end term exam some subjects have both mca and written Some have only MCQ and some have only written. The syllabus is moderated every year in order to ensure the curriculum meeting the world of technology and competition. We had an industrial visit to Central tool room in Ludhiana in this year. Every course will have some industrial visits every year.

Placement Experience

3.5

Companies like Daikin,Bosch,Tech Mahindra,Hero usually comes for the placement drives. Placement drives consists of and online exam(aptitude, technical, English), personal interview and in some interviews GD will be there. Almost 60% of the students will be placed every year. Yes,there will be classes to develop communication skills in English from the 1st year itself. In the 4th year we can opt for the placement training classes as well.

College Events

4.5

Lpu is not behind for the extra curricular activities, labs, sports etc. There are two big events one India and one World conducted every year in LPU.In addition to that there are so many events conducted by some departments or student organizations. These are competitions like Effi cycle, Hackathon,Dance competitions, Poetry held in the campus very often by student organizations. Division of Student Affairs(DSA) and Division os student welfare (DSW) are the departments for the students where you can showcase your talent by being a part in it.There are dance group, Theater performers, Sports, Extra curricular activities and so many.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee for my program (Mechanical) is 94,500/- per semester (excluding hostel) in which I'm getting scholarship of 50,000/-. Without the scholarship it would be definitely expensive for me. Mode of payments accepted :- Paytm,Debit Card, Credit card. There is a fee of 10,000 to secure our admission which we should pay in the time of taking admission. This 10,000/- will be balanced in the semester fee. College doesn't provide any fee breakdown at all.Only way for that is scholarship.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes,I'm getting a scholarship of 50 thousand per semester. My scholarship is based on my 12th percentage (90%). We don't need to apply for the scholarship specially. If your entrance exam score is better than your 12th percentage then your scholarship will be based on the entrance exam score.(Whichever is best will be taken into consideration for scholarship).

Campus Life

In lpu most of the students are boys.Even in CSE department we can barely see girls in the classrooms.Fashion designing and agriculture department have the most number of girls. Lpu is not behind for the extra curricular activities, labs, sports etc. There are two big events one India and one World conducted every year in LPU.In addition to that there are so many events, workshops conducted every day by some department or student organizations. Lpu is an University with 0% ragging and with 0% alcohol free.I didn't see any fights, ragging so far in the campus.Any such indiscipline activity leads to UMC case (suspend from classes and scholarship cut). This is how the management putting everyone under control. There are no religious flights, racism in campus. It is a campus with diversity.Students from every corner of India as well as from foreign countries come here for studies.

Hostel Facilities

Yes.Hostel rooms are good but the fee is high(55000 for 4seater,cooler and geyser provided). Hostel seats are based on 1st come and 1serve basis. Most of the time we can get hostel seat if we really want to opt. If we want to live outside the university there are PG's and rental houses nearby (approximately 9000 for rental houses per month where 4 members can live without any problems) For PG's the rent would be around 3000 - 4000

Alumni/Alumna

There is one senior and he is my brother. He is also from the same stream and helps me giving guidance, clearing doubts etc.

Admission

I got the admission by giving an entrance exam called LPU-NEST. Factors made me choose this institution:- 1) Infrastructure 2) Diversity 3) Placement 4) Scholarship 5) Anti ragging First you need to apply online for the entrance test. After that you'll get an admit card on which you will get your examination center. After the exam you will get results. Print the result and take necessary documents (Original and Xerox) to the nearest lpu office situated in your city. They will verify all the documents and based on your results scholarship will be given. You can get your queries clear by asking them. You need to pay 10,000 to secure your admission. The mode of payment is Paytm,DD or Card.Cash is not acceptable at the lpu office. Cash is only accepted when you pay fee in the campus. After that you will be given a date on which you need to go to the campus. On the next day you need to go to the admission office for document verification. There will be induction classes of 3 days where you will get a lot of friends, they'll take you to city tour induction classes are not mandatory.

Faculty

3.5

There are approximately 40 lectures in my course I could say.The lectures are having an age of approximately 25 to 40 years. Most of the lecturers are young.I think lpu intentionally hire young lecturers instead of their experience. Some of the lecturers are not good at all in giving the lectures. This is due to the lack of experience. They can't deliver the lecture in way that the student can understand. Yes,Some of them had worked in some industries, companies and they have the experience and knowledge about the Industry. As my course is mechanical the lecturers should have some practical experience in the industries for which they can teach us better. But most of them are not having the industrial experience.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
