Remarks

The college needs to check at regular intervals whether the syllabus is being completed on time or not. Bus management is at it's worse as most of the time students need to merge with the students of other bus to travel, this creates confusion and chaos which needs to be taken care of.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course structure is really good but the executive is not. As in my department of BA (J&MC) most of the faculties have themselves not worked in the industry so lack practical knowledge. On-campus placement for this subject is not really good but for other courses it's nice. Handsome packages have been grabbed by students. You can't relly upon the university for your grooming but you have go put lot of effort by yourself and polish your skills. However, good number of industrial visits are made.

Placement Experience

3.5

For BA(J&MC) no on-campus placements take place. However, for internship the CRC provides with companies matching with the students interest according to the resume provided by students. The students of this course have to do compulsory internship at end of each semester.

College Events

4

Annual culture fest, Amispark takes place. Also there are annual sports event (sangathan) and technical events like Hackathon takes place every Year. Students need to give auditions in order to qualify and perform on the day of the event. Fashion, music, art competions take place too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For first year the course fee is 36000 per semester, second year is 40000 per semester and for the third semester the fee is 48000 per semester. However, if you have gained a scholarship then according to its percentage the fee will be reduced. Mode of fee payment is online or through NEFT. No cash payment is a accepted.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you have scored above 70% in your 12th the you are eligible for 25% scholarship, above 80% then 50% scholarship, above 85% then 75% scholarship and if above 95% then 100% scholarship. The continuation of scholarship depends on the performance of the student.

Campus Life

4

Equality is maintained atcall levels among students. Certification workshops take place frequently. There is even an anti ragging committee for students help. Students are judged based on their behavior and performance and not biased upon. The gender ratio is quite favourable. Number of girls and boys are quite parallel.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel has suit and each suit has 3 rooms each shared by 2, with a common bath and toilet. Hostel costs 5000 per month and mess charges are 3050 which is too much for the quality of rooms and food provided. pg's are there but they are far from college as the college is in the outskirts of city. You need to travel atleast an hour to reach college if you stay in pg. The PGs starts from a cost of 3000. Flats are also available in sharing and in single occupancy if you can pay around 10000 alone.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are helpful. There are even faculties who have qualified from Amity itself and are now teaching here. Alumni interactions are also made to share the experiences and knowledge to the students.

Admission

I have a good hold on writing as well as speaking and I wanted to join print media so, I opted for Bachelor's in Journalism and Mass Communication. For graduation I didn't wanted to go out of chhattisgarh so, Amity university is the best private university here as I heard and so joined here. I also thought that it would provide me with practical exposure. The admission process starts around June-July. You need to fill admission form online. After that you can either upload an interview video of yourself telling about yourself and why do you want to join the course. After that you might be called for an interview as well.

Faculty

4

There are 7 lectures a day of 1 hour each. The classes are held from 9am -5 pm, which is a very long time. The facilities age from 29-50 years. Faculties are good at explaining theoretical part but lack practical knowledge. Many certification based seminars take place at regular intervals of time.

Course curriculum is good, however, sometimes one may find the course to be slightly difficult, but the faculty makes up for it, as they're extremely capable of making students understand such concepts.
