Remarks

Best according to me, Best Classes, Good Feculty, good placement, fine infrastructure, Friendly environment, social work, Placed between th town, etc. just a problem the town has a poor train service, just one train of Delhi amd one of Kolkata and some locals to Katihar and Siliguri. One have to use Malda station or Busses besides this all good.

Course Curriculum Overview

Mathematics is my favorite subject. I got chance in Raiganj University was blessing to me. 3 years of studies made me a good bachelor in Mathematics. very good feculty available. I am happy to take admission again in Raiganj University.

Placement Experience

A good placement history Raiganj University have. Many of the students became teachers, professors, Officers, Bank Workers, Defense services etc. The college just became into a UNIVERSITY by 5 years. It doesn't provide Internship yet. but in the best of my knowledge it will in 4-5 years.

College Events

Freshers: A big program from University and also separately Freshers be given for all new students. Exhibitionand and Social: Per year the University Union holds a program of Exhibition. all the Departments take participation in this. Also a cultural program.

Fee Structure And Facilities

B.Sc.: 2400-300/semester B.A.: 2000-2700/semester B.Com.: 2400-2800/semester M.A.:5500-6500/semester M.Sc.: 6000-7000/semester M.Com.: 6000-7000/Semester MBA: 40000/semester Also Self finance same courses available in the night batch. will cost some extra money than day courses.

Fees and Financial Aid

It's a newly opened government UNIVERSITY. Currently don't giving any type of scholarship but one can apply for any state govt or national scholarship from here with the all conditions by the department which is giving the Scholarship.

Campus Life

Good quality of Science Labs available here. Like Chemistry, Physics, Microbiology, Sericulture, Botany, Zoology, Computer, Geography etc. Sports day held every year. NCC NSS. A Central Digital Library.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities available for both Boys and Girls. Each charges approx 15000-20000/year. Also here available many to-let rooms near the UNIVERSITY charges 2000-2500(/Bed)/month. and Charges approx 2000 for food(lunch and dinner)/month.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

They are helpful, loving, caring, Give suggestions to any type of problem. Help in our study. also the university Union Students welfare Association help us all the time. Any time of problem they solve.

Admission

After 12th I applied for BSc in mathematics course in Raiganj university. Then I made touch with the website. I got chance in the 2nd counseling. After 3 years of Bachelor course I again take admission in the University for MSc in mathematics course.

Faculty

Good. We got One of the best professors. Best Head of the Department. They are always on time. They take extra class. Very Loving and caring professor. They solve all the problems of ourselves.

Likes

Campus is nice. There's greenery and all
SOME of the faculties are really good and those said teachers will actually look out for you and care
Mentors are appointed for each students who are responsible for their final year project, publications and LORs. If you are lucky, you'll get a good mentor.

Dislikes

Classrooms are less compared to the number of students. Students have to wander around the building after each classes to find seats. Classrooms are very dirty
There's literally NOTHING in the labs. Experiments take way long to prepare and perform because reagents and equipments are never available.
Hardly a 2 week summer break (because of MAKAUT). Students cannot even apply to good internships because no lab would take in external students in july or august.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Likes

The faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive. Most teachers explain concepts clearly and are approachable after class for doubts and guidance, which helps a lot during exams.
The college has a disciplined academic environment with regular classes and practical sessions. Laboratories are functional and help students understand concepts through hands-on learning.
The campus environment is calm and student-friendly. Various seminars, cultural programs, and academic activities help in overall personality development.

Dislikes

Industry exposure and internship guidance are minimal, which could be improved to make students more job-ready after graduation.
Infrastructure can be improved, especially classrooms and laboratory equipment. Some facilities feel outdated and require modernization.
Placement opportunities for BSc students are limited. The college focuses more on academics, so students need to prepare for higher studies or competitive exams on their own.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Likes

I like the campus , it is quite huge and green , the canteen has both cooked and packed food available, a seperate common room for students and many sports equipment available. Several functions are arranged along with international conferences held
All the faculty members are soft spoken , knowledgeable and friendly, it is easy to find help regarding anything.
Professors are strict about their syllabus and subjects , paying proper attention to the students. Practicals classes are conducted without fail.

Dislikes

There is nothing as such that I disliked because I am a first year student so I haven't been so much involved yet , I think that the washrooms should be cleaned properly to maintain the hygiene apart from thjs everything is fine.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Subjects offered in the college as well as the minor and idc subjects are well adhered to the curriculum and future aspects. The subject combinations are apt and futuristic. It moderately prepares one for real world situations.

How is it like to be a part of Presidency University!

Likes

I like the facilities available including air conditioner, lab equipments, projector screen for slideshow, canteen and overall the campus
I also appreciate the faculties because they have studied in highly reputed institutes and undoubtedly teach the best.
I like how the college focuses not only on academics but also on co curricular. Sports, cultural functions, workshops are held frequently. It keeps the students engaged in fruitful activities

Dislikes

I do not like the multidisciplinary courses that we have to study in the first year making it little burdened for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

College is under Ramakrishna Mission so you can imagine the discipline. Fully disciplined college no ragging.
Good . You have to balance with disciplined college.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Reasons to not apply for NSHM Knowledge Campus

Likes

The admission process was very smooth, the administration board is very helpful.
The library is huge and the content of books is very good
College life and fests are good but not great

Dislikes

Placements are absolutely bogus. There were almost no good placements when i passed out part of it can be blamed on covid but mostly the college was largely at fault
Faculty was not upto the mark in regards to the hefty college fees we were charged
Even during covid online classes we were charged full fee which is again absolutely horrendous

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Examination Questions And Syllabus are good.
Faculties and Facilities are good enough.
College and evaluation system is good enough.

Dislikes

Timings of examinations per semester is reduced.
Examination centres are given far away from college.
Fees is little bit Higher for many poor students.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.

Love for my college

Likes

College library there are ample amount of books to br studied on.
College campus. There are no such ragging related activities have been encouraged in our college
Professors and seniors they help us a lot.

I found mathematics an interesting discipline to take up for my future so i opted. The faculties are well educated and behaved. We get regular classes with doubt solving session. The professors also help us with our doubts and extra classes.

I like reviewing my college

My college had academic repetition. My college considered the ranking, faculty, expertise, and course quality of the colleges where they were better known for your intended and special program course, curriculum and specialisation. My college does the curriculum well with their career goals are their elective internships and research opportunities are the college were only offering more diverse courses, double measures or unique learning experiences. My College is really close to my home, which is a good thing, and other colleges were a little bit far from my place and convenient location, considering considering tuition scholarship and living expenses, my college is more spiritual for me, then other colleges they were expensive and offered less financial support. My College looked at placements services, alumni support, other colleges did not have strong industry ties or better global recognisation. academic reputations, our college, consider the program, ranking, faculties, expertise, and research opportunities was a course circulation relevant to your career goals. Other colleges where they more precision or specialise in your field of interest, did they offer unique courses or better academic flexibility Course, circular and learning experience. Our college. All about Raiganj University

I applied Calcutta University, Jadavpur University, sister Nivedita collage, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose collage , surendranath collage, KNU and more others but for long distance from home I did not attend as I get chance in my hometown University near my home and it is Raiganj University. The criteria was that candidate must have to qualify High secondary exam with minimum 70% score and the main applied subject's score must be grater than 90% and fortunately I fulfilled the criteria. The admission process was very easy , I applied in some honours subjects than University published the provisional list and after that published the merit lists one by one and after this process University gave various dates to candidates according to merit score and after this I got admission successfully....Read More
