Remarks
I applied Calcutta University, Jadavpur University, sister Nivedita collage, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose collage , surendranath collage, KNU and more others but for long distance from home I did not attend as I get chance in my hometown University near my home and it is Raiganj University. The criteria was that candidate must have to qualify High secondary exam with minimum 70% score and the main applied subject's score must be grater than 90% and fortunately I fulfilled the criteria. The admission process was very easy , I applied in some honours subjects than University published the provisional list and after that published the merit lists one by one and after this process University gave various dates to candidates according to merit score and after this I got admission successfully.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose English honours as I love this particular subject and have confidence that I can manage this course easily with enough score and performance and this subject gives students various opportunity of jobs. This course allow total 120 students in two different shifts. The teaching methods are quite good but as it is a new University so it has some lacks but we all believe that This University will progress more and more by time. Teachers are good and has 3 layer of teachers like proffrsors , assistant professor and guest teachers or scholars. This university providers us projector based study also some times and in one day it provides us 4 classes and each class duration is 45 minutes. Total course time is 3 years. In this period students have to give 6 semesters and 6 internals. The minimum score to qualify the semester is 35% . So according to me this is not so difficult to pass the exams and provides good opportunity to students.
Fees and Financial Aid
English honours UG course has 2 shifts. One is day shift and each semester costs 2000 rupess so total course fees is approximately 12000 rupess. And the another shift is Evening shift self finance mode and each semester costs 7000 rupess so total course fees is approximately 42000 rupess. This university has no personal scholarship scheme as it is a new University but helps students to access with other scholarship programmes. This course has no campus system but informs students about a lot of job opportunities and helps theme to become familiar with many job opportunities.
Campus Life
Name of the annual fest is Raiversy fest. And it organises other many programs by student wellfear society like teachers day, seminers about verious topics, freshers and more others. Raiganj University has a proper size library which contains a verious types of books and journals. Almost all text books of all courses are available here and has others helper books also. It has a large range of other informative books. All departments provides their students various aminites in classroom. All students feel free to inform their needs. HODs are so polite and all stuffs of office are very helpful. They provides students about informations about the classes. There are 2-3 social groups for students run by studenys like Raiganj University students wellfear group, Raiganj University any information group etc.
