Remarks

There was one time when the college was becoming Autonomous from being under VTU. Then there were some rumors of the college degree given to students of not much value. The management never came out to answer and tell that this was a rumor. This made ever

Entrance Preview

COMED-K - I scored 98 out of 120. The questions were pretty simple compared to the level of JEE or AIEEE. There are 4 different sets of question paper having same questions in different order. I chose BMS for Electronics and Bio-Medical Instrumentation even though I had EEE option in colleges of little lesser on rank like BIT and DSIT. BMSCE is the college to be.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The college is very appreciative on patent acquisitions and research work. Internships are pretty easy to be cracked at IT and other industries here as the college holds a good name. The professors are mostly Ph.Ds and have good reach-ability. Lot of good work happening in college labs as well which is very well equipped.

Internships Opportunities

College directly does not provide internship. But the college name is good and hence internship cracking in the industry is fairly simpler. Given that you are good at what you learn. You are expected to be of a good output giver as the college has a good name in Karnataka.

Placement Experience

4.5

There is 95% placement for students who are eligible and who opt for placements. The average package is of 4 lpa. The highest of that going to 14-15 lpa as well. There are mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Accenture etc taking almost everyone for 1 job.

College Events

5

There are department fests going around in the college campus. These are mostly once a month. Then there is UTSAV. Which is the annual college festival. This is the biggest college fest in Karnataka. There are quite a lot of sponsors for this event and lot of colleges participating in it. The special guests in this event are popular Kannada film stars,The judges are well known personalities too.The award is very prestigious and the award money is good too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite expensive. There are two type of seats.1) Merit2) QuotaMerit seats have fees from 1.25 lpa to 1.75 lpa depending upon branches.Quota seats have fees from 3 lpa to 3.5 lpa depending upon branches. Please note, the above are COMED-K seat fees. For CET, the fees are around 28 - 35 K depending on different branch.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers scholarships for the needy. You definitely need to score beyond a certain score to obtain that though. Then there is sports scholarship.

Campus Life

4.5

My department had 1:1 gender ratio. This is obviously lesser in Mechanical and Electronics. Labs are well equipped. Good practicals and practice can be done on them. Even patent work support are given in the labs. There are students from every part of the world. There is also a separate international hostel for international students. All facilities and help are provided to them as well.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel facilities are the best in Bangalore. Food has variety of North Indian and South Indian. So there is something for everybody in it. The facility of hostel is 2 share bedroom for first 2 years. Then a single room for final two years.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network and seniors are of a lot of help. Even when we go to the industry, there is always a concern and help and advice coming our way from seniors. Not even immediate seniors, but the seniors who were once part of your college.

Exam Structure

Exam structures are well defined. We have 3 unit tests in 1 semester for each subject. The best two of the 3 scores will be taken for final judgement. You can even opt out to give one of the unit tests. There is then one external paper for finals of semes

Faculty

4

The professors are mostly Ph.Ds and have good reach-ability. They are helpful for research work. The professors have good contacts across industry and can guide one if interested. The professors also make you a part if you are willing in their research pa

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
