CALICUT MEDICAL COLLEGE is heaven on earth. Period.

Kozhikode Medical College is the medical college with the most no of inflow of patients and services in India and possibly Asia. So clinical knowledge and faculty available are top notch. We see 10 times the no of cases than any other private medical colleges and maybe govt colleges. The curriculum per se is based on MCI and government guidelines. Its just like other colleges. Its very by heart learning in theory but practical is nice. But there are seniors and lot of academic club initiatives to help us with anything and everything.

Placement for medical courses mostly depends on your qualifications like PG, superspeciality. But the name of our college do carry high market value in the medical life. There are no company placements in Medical Colleges. You have to find employment yourselves. Increasing degrees increases your salary. After MBBS, do your PG. If you want do superspeciality. Which will get you anywhere you want.

There are over 190 programmes conducted every year. There are over 20 clubs like blood bank, academic club, adventure, nature, healthey campus,winca, van club, arts club, sports club etc. A lot of them are there. Lot of oppurtunities for you to pitch an Idea and make it work. Our college union also prides itself with initiatives like IMPRINTS, Zahri, SPARSH. Imrpints provides medical and financial aid to the families of kids with diabetes, Thalassemia and Wilsons disease. There are over 75 families that are under imprints. The first and only one of its kind run by college students in any college of India. Zahri is breast cancer awareness initiatives with month long activities. Sparsh provides financial aid to backward patients to help with cost of medicine. The programmes are hell a lot. It starts with proshow, Union inauguration, valentines day, Interzone, interbatch, intermed, onam, Eid, college Day, teachers day, freshers day, Graduation, PG day Med ex etc. The huge stage complex is Aurora is lit up for all such programmes

The fee structure is 25,000 for first year then 20,000 for the nnext three years. Then during internship you get a salary of 25,000 every month. It is according to government of Kerala guidelines. There are scholarships to meet with fees. The fee is very feasible and fair.

Yes. There are scholarships available like e grants that provide you 25,000 to meet with the annual fee. MOMA 30,000 which is also for annual fee. You can avail either of the two. The criteria is based on the annual income of your family and other reservations and certificates. If you have reservations like SC, ST pretty much the whole cost is covered by scholarships. I do not avail scholarships because my family is capable of providing for me

Hostels First year you have 4 people in a room Then 2nd and 3rd yr 3 people in a room 4th year 2 people in a room. The rooms are spacious and has good electricity and water supply. There are stores in hostels. The hostel fee is 13,000 first year and 9,000 every other year. I don't know about PGs i am an hostelite. The accommodation is sufficient. The food is also good. A hygienic mess and healthey diet is provided. If you want you can eat from any of the hundred restaurants in the city and outside the college. Kozhikode is know for its cuisine.

There was only minimal ragging when we came and that too just to get to know each other. They made us sing, dance only such activities. Our Seniors quickly became friends who had our backs,when we were down they would cheer us and helped us a lot in our academics.

I have always wanted to be a doctor since an early age. So after my 12th i took entrance coaching for an year, wrote Neet. I had All India rank 1063 and Keam rank 149. Everyone in Kerala knows the best medical college in terms of patient onflow, faculty, college life is Kozhikode medical college. So i applied through my Keam Quota and got it in the first allotment. Then according to the dates publoshed in the newspaper i arrived for admission with my documents and my parents. We had to sign the bonafide and other legal documents. We were also given info on scholarships that help us cover the yearly fee. Then we were taken to the Union Room and informed of the books to buy and overall how the college runs. I was very excited

The hours of lecture depends on the year. First year you have only lectures mostly, less clinical exposure. From second to fourth you have more clinics than lectures. The lecture halls are huge. The lectureres are the best in the state and maybe country. The principals and faculties to other govt medical colleges are usually taken from my college. Lectureres have over 25 yrs experience in the field. Top notch learning experience too.
