Remarks

Our college is a mix of both academics and creative learning and it has a very good practical view about the course which is the most essential element of study.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is good. Industrial visits are quite often. And learning is based on practical knowledge more than theoretical which helps a lot during placement. The course curriculum is vast which includes many subjects ranging from biology to maths and computer.

Placement Experience

5

The placement is good, also, an international internship is provided and also at the national level. Every year the final year students are sent to other Fishery institutes for internships.

College Events

4.5

We celebrate many events including New year's day, fresher's day, college week, and many more. We also organise picnics every week. They are necessary for a healthy environment. We have sports ground and cultural events which are organised in our auditorium.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is good. Not very expensive. Additional charges are not required. An affordable fee structure is available. The mode of payment is physical. Fees need to be paid during the starting of every semester as the students join the hostel after the semester break.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers a merit scholarship to students who have secured good grades in the previous semester. Every semester merit scholarship is provided to the top 5 students of each batch. I myself have achieved it and the procedure is quite simple, you just need to apply for it and if you are selected your money will be transferred to your account. We get Rs 6000 every semester.

Campus Life

5

Gender ratios are good. We are a batch of 24 students and 12 are girls and the rest are boys. Also, the cultural section is much developed which includes the fishcol meet organised every year in the month of November. The workshop is provided to increase the knowledge in this field quite often, field visits are very common every now and then. Student diversity is really great here. Most of the students are from other states including Kerela, Orissa, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, and also from other Northeastern states. This helps in a clear and concrete bonding among the students. The religion of the students are diverse but all stay together and observe and respect everyone's festival and occasion.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel is compulsory for students. The hostel rooms are available in both single and double. The rooms are quite good. They have the facilities necessary for the students. Bed, table chair is provided. There are two floors.

Alumni/Alumna

All the seniors and the alumni are very helpful in any matter. We generally have alumni meet once in 2 years which enhances our chances to strengthen our bond with them and clear up our doubts if any.

Admission

I got admitted by the merit list criteria to this college which requires your physics, chemistry and biology marks from 12th. I have been always keen on studying agriculture related subjects and this is one of those. This institution is the best for students who aspire to learn more about fish and fish farming. It is a single Fisheries college in entire Northeast India. The procedures for admission is simple. you just need to fill up the form after getting your 12 boards to result and there will be counselling in which you will be called to attend. There you can get admitted to this institution on the basis of your marks obtained in 12th.

Faculty

4.5

There are a strong group of faculty members, which range from 10-15. They are generally the best graduates and provide the relevant information required to the students. They are certified in industrial experience. They are experienced teachers which make education quite interesting. They are friendly too and make us learning easy.

Course Curriculum Overview:

See I had the passion for civil since my 10th std. I am really happy about my course . Because there are many job opportunities in govt sector in Assam. I like the teachers of my dept but some are not that friendly . Maybe it depends upon their mood sometimes I don't know really . The civil course is practical it's enjoyable. I would have liked it more if it would had more placement opportunities on campus . Otherwise it's fine

Its a good college. I feel lucky to read on this college. They faculty, the facilities is nice. The environment of the college is very good for education. The management cell of the college is also do grat jobs. But the main problem I have found is placement. According to the other colleges the placement of this college is not so good. If the college can give more placement then it will become a great college. Overall its a great college full of knowledge.
