Amity School of Engineering & Technology New Delhi, B.Tech, Computer Science and Engineering

Reviewed on Jun 9, 2020

Remarks

Study Abroad Program was a very important factor. I went to Singapore to study for a month. They have many kinds of program- International, 3-Continent, etc. It balances between studies and co-curriculum. I am currently the President of a club named Amity Software Engineering Club.

Course Curriculum Overview

Academics at Amity are very good. They are very strict about studies and the classes. Industrial exposure is more than enough at Amity. We have many conferences, industrial visits and a lot to give students exposure to the Industry.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 2000000 per year

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements and job opportunities at Amity are better then any other private institute. Companies like Google, Cisco, SAP, TCS, Wipro, etc. visit college for placement. There is a Amity Incubation Centre where all the startups of Amity are given an office space to work.

College Events

Campus life is great. We have Amity Youth Fest and on the last day we host a singer. It's really great. We have outlets of subway, Domino's, Amul, CCD, Nirulas and what not. Technical events are also very important part of college life. We have been hosting the techfest for Amity.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarship to students who scored excellent marks in 12th class and then continue to maintain their performance. Their fees is waived off on different scales. It can be 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%. To maintain the scholarship, the students have to perform their best in the upcoming semesters to maintain their scholarships.

Campus Life

Campus infrastructure is great. We have centralised AC. We have A-L Blocks including all types of studies. Amity school of engineering and technology is in E Block. Wi-Fi is round the campus put by Cisco. Each router is worth 25k.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are two types of hostels - AC and Non AC. In AC, there is a living room and 4 small rooms. In non AC, there are three type of rooms, 3-sharing, 2-sharing and individual. 3 bed room is given to the younger students and as the years pass by they can have their individual room.

Hostel Fee: INR 160000 per year

How Good B.Tech. from JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA is?

Likes

Here in Jamia the faculty is very experienced in their fields , they make you feel Engineering and not to just read books. there teaching methods are amog the top in the nation
the curriculum not just focus on your engineering but also focuses on your personality development.
the infrastructure itself gives you the feel of oldness and the reputation of the college.

Dislikes

one bad thing is its less availability of Hostel rooms .
there is a very strict rule of 75% attendance .

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

The Dream College Life

Likes

The campus is completely different from the whole city, it is more cleaner and is quiet peaceful with various different beautiful views at different points and is not too big so could easily walk through the campus.
Has really great architecture of the buildings and is surrounded by really intelligent people including some over the top profs and some really great minds from the country.
The night life is completely different and is one of the best part of staying in campus.

Dislikes

some of the hostels are quiet old and need renovation.

Placement Experience:

If you study passionately and have decent communication skills and some important competencies, I assure you that you will secure a position in a great company. Here at IIT Delhi, you earn what you work for; you can receive salary packages as high as 2 crores, but some offers start as low as 4 lakhs per annum.

Amity for IT

The admission process was a well-structured procedure starting from registering for the university. After that, there was document submission and then the entrance test namely 'IPUCET' took place which was a well-structured test with equal importance to all the three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Maths, and the difficulty level was on a higher side as it is expected in an entrance exam. Then was choice filling. So I filled my college. Counseling was online with a list of max ranks allowed to be displayed and we had 2 days to freeze our seat in the college....Read More

My College: Through the eyes of an average student.

The admissions in GGSIPU is based on IPU-CET rank. I used to regularly visit the university website. I got admission through the open spot counselling round. On the counselling day, I was supposed to be present on the university campus, Dwarka. After one level of verification of documents, I waited for my rank to be called for the counselling process. A screen displayed seats left in different courses of IPU affiliated colleges. They were calling out the range of rank and students were assembling for further verifications and enrolment to a college. The screen was updated to show the remaining seats left. They directed selected students for payment of counselling fee and generation of provisional admission slip. It was one day process. The next day I joined the college and submitted photocopies of the 10th and 12th marksheet and provisional certificate the following week....Read More

Like if in 2015 wipro did bulk placement then in next year other company like infosys will do bulk placement....Read More
