PAU has a strong alumni network overseas. It is known by all major institutes of agriculture. It was basically started by Punjab government in partnership with university of california. I wanted to study overseas and PAU was a pretty good choice.
The course syllabus was not at all updated. Even teachers were not sure about what they should be teaching. There was no industrial exposure at all. In third year we were told that we will have an industrial training and it never happened. There were many passionate teachers like Dr. Dharminder Bhatia of plant breeding, Dr. Darshan Singh Brar and there were also teachers who were not at all interested in teaching but were doing it because of the pressure of the higher authorities.
There are no placements as such. But PAU has very good alumni network which can help to get admission in foreign countries but for job there is no help from college side. If you plan to work right after your bachelor's then PAU is not for you. Some of our seniors are still unemployed.
If we talk about educational events, there is an educational event every three days. A lot of scientists from foreign and national universities visit PAU on regular basis. If you want to be research then PAU can provide you with pretty much a lot of resources. Let's talk about fun events, every year there is youth festival. This is the most memorable time for every PAU student. Anybody can participate in all the events regardless of there course and class.
In terms of infrastructure PAU is the best. It has hockey ground, cycling velodrome, swimming and gyms. There is WiFi 24/7. Library is pretty big it has more than 260000 books. Labs are of pretty good quality.

From the 3rd semester, you are eligible for an internship. TCS, Infosys, Samsung etc are available here but if are taking admission here you should mainly focus on exams like gate etc. average package is 20k per month and the max is 1 lakh so it's not good. 50% are getting placed every year but mainly students are focused on sports or government exams. I want to run my startup but the primary focus is on gate exam and skill development.
Placement is average, I think every year 35-45% of students are getting placed. From last year or 7-8 semesters, students become eligible for campus placement. Every company has its own academic cutoff results to attend their exam. Companies like Mahindra, Infosys, Patanjali, Microsoft are many more little companies are visited campus every year. The highest package in mechanical got 4 lakh and average is about 2 -3 lakh. After completing B.E if I did not get campus placement then try my best to qualify for GATE and I also go for general competition.
From the 3rd year of your engineering, you are eligible for your campus placement if you have a CGPA above 7.5. Throughout the year many companies visiting universities for hiring and TCS is major among all. You can also see hirers like Microsoft and Amazon. Last year the highest pakage offered was 43lpa and placements went off with an average pakage of 3.5LPA. I don't know the exact percentage of placement but could say it was decent. At current, I am wondering a job at google.
our college has approx 75 percentage placements out of the eligible students. There are MNCs and other big companies come in SLIET for recruitments like MAHINDRA, TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, JINDAL, MARUTI SUZUKI, WELSPUN, CAPGEMINI, GODREJ, etc. The highest package of our college is 14lacs and the average salary package is 3.5 lacs which is really too good.
Nirf Ranking of the college. Placement records of the college and the companies coming in campus. The well known infrastructure and faculty of the college. Opportunities to grow my skills and myself. It is near to house too. And in my marks it was best what i can get.
I joined this college because the environment of this college fascinated me and truly speaking I experienced that surroundings gives us a perfect feel of discipline. I was also attracted by the green cover of college, the ECOSYSTEM. The faculty welcomed me with a warm tone which bounded me to join this college.
The teachers here believe in you and will do everything they can in helping you to not just achieve your target grades but even exceed them and do better. The teachers will also address the main issues that you have with exam technique and revision and will, therefore, help you to achieve better grades in future exams.
Although it was privately funded institution, Khalsa engineering college provided best facilities for students to nurture their talents and obtain requisite skills for progressing ahead in life. We owe it to them. If anything can be improved it is the placement opportunities and hostel facilities that need a bit of touch.
