Entrance Preview
Actually I'm from AP. I joined that particular college through management as it is one among top colleges in Chennai. My cousins studied there before and they recommend me that college. Before deciding of a college I thought of joining any college which comes under Anna University affiliation. Later I decided to join SVCE.
Course Curriculum Overview
As of now I'm gonna appear for 1st Semester examination. The syllabus is completed. Particularly I liked the practical sessions. It was very interesting and informative. Workshops teached me a lot. As a computer science student, I showed a lot of interest in C language which comes under 1st Sem. Engineering Graphics is an another subject where we need to think and project. All other subjects were same as my +2 like maths and science.
Internships Opportunities
According to the information given by the seniors, there will be offers for internship in the 5th or 6th semester. Here we can do our projects for academics in companies were we are offered stipend. I don't know the figure of stipend offered but many companies show interest in SVCE students.
Placement Experience
One of the reasons I joined SVCE is its placements. It had collaborated with many companies namely CTS,TCS, Wipro, IBM, Infosys etc. Every year around 80% outgoing students will get placed. The average package is around 3 lakhs per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
A scholarship is offered for meritorious students who performs well in all the CAT exams and SEMESTER exam. Another scholarship is provided for BPL and sc/st students. Students from army families with good performance can also get scholarships.
Campus Life
Campus life is just really enjoyable. There are lot of extracurricular activities if you are interested to take part in. Coming to the clubs there are number of clubs to join. I'm in the part of Youth Red Cross and Leo Club. Each club will have representatives from seniors and lots of activities are taken place under them. Every student is free to interact with other students irrespective of gender, seniority. Debates will be held on regular basis on the current situations and topics.
Alumni/Alumna
Our college has a large alumni network around the world since many years. Seniors are very helpful especially in hostel. Till now I didn't meet any alumni except my cousins who studied there. Seniors are interactive and gives usefull tips.
Exam Structure
Our college follows Anna University exam structure. 20% marks are awarded as internals and 80% marks are awarded for semester exam (externals). There will be 3 CAT (Cumulative Assessment Test) Exams for each semester which comes under internals. This test is conducted for 50 marks and 3 assignments should be submitted for 1 semester before the respective CAT exams.
Faculty
Our college was established in 1985. We can see many senior faculty with lot of experience in teaching. They are very interactive and has a grip Anna University syllabus. Some faculty are alumni of SVCE itself.
