Remarks

NAAC accreditation etc etc had started to come up. The college infrastructure and other amenities were improving. I am sure if the culture evolves the college has a lot to give and take.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

They usually copy syllabus from NIT. It's not research driven. It's basic rote learning. Only few good permanent faculty members are interested in teaching and knows to teach. There might be changes now but during our time the courses we took are very irrelevant but again this attitude will not help anyone cause where ever you go you have to study by yourself. It's better to be active on some coding platform and slowly upgrade your skills than just finishing assignments and getting good grades.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements are normal as any other 2 tier college. Decent. Good enough companies come. If you are eligible to sit you get equal and fair chance to clear any campus placement. The college doesn't provide/ help / need internships from students. Remember this is a govt. college and they bother least.

College Events

2

Vipanchika, Sargam - cultural fest and Tech fest The college comes up with various other departments as well. if you are active you can avail foreign language courses in the campus from 2nd year onward. There is a sports department too. There are places to play and some courts. You can avail but it's mostly over crowded. The cultural fest give you ample amount of opportunities to showcase your talent. Tech fest is mainly organised by seniors. Be pro-active, get in touch, organize, get sponsors or least participate. Good number of workshops happens in and around college. Participate in extra curricular activities outside college too like modelling, Make a Difference and AIESEC. Onam is the only festival celebrated in college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

When I was there the fees were RS.27000 per semester. Hostels were only for boys and south Indian girls. Hostels are difficult to get. The hostel fees were Rs.500 per month without food. Even now I think the fees is much lesser comparative to other colleges. The fees breakdown and transparency is there. There is no extra charges ever asked in the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

No There is no special scholarship provided by college. However, they give reservation and fees is less for SC/ST and OBC of Kerala. The fees for SC/ST were as less as Rs. 1700 per semester. As far as I remember they used to get money for studying.

Campus Life

3

The gender ratio is very skewed. In a class of 50 there were almost 15 north Indians and I was the only girl. As any other engineering college you will have 10:1 girls ratio. The scene is improving. There are competitions in robotics, debates, sports field but you just have to be aware and make good use of library, seniors, notice board. Find you place and stick to it.

Hostel Facilities

3

NO North Indians don't get not do they prefer hostel because of the food mostly. I was staying in a PG which charged Rs.3000 per month to me without food. There were several other lunch options available if you are opting for pg. You can also rent a flat with friends and have a cook.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no alumni network. I wish the trend changes. We were never in touch with our seniors even during and after the course. The college culture was not supporting even from the teacher or the seniors. You are lucky if you have good relation with your batch mate. It's better to have some friends than none cause there isn't much to enjoy.

Admission

I took a test called CAT for getting a national rank. The exam was on 2nd April,2011 in Varanasi. The results came by 26th April and I was called from the first list itself. June 24th was the date of admission which happened in the campus itself and 7th June the classes began.

Faculty

1

Pramod P and Sheena Mathew are the only good teachers who would really teach every student without any prejudice. They know their subject very well and try to be relevant to the students as well. The temporary faculty will give you nightmares. Labs were dreaded and it's the best place to take revenge. The dropout rate of my class was 16% and there were more than 70% students who failed at least 1 subject.

Placement Experience:

Upon reaching s7 students are invited for campus placement but they have to pass different criteria to become eligible for attending the interview, a minimum cgpa of 7.5 and academic skills a these are the basic requirements and an aptitude test will be given and in further selection these criteria are looked. I plan on pursuing a job after completing by btech. More than half the students in a batch are getting placed usually.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because the curriculum covers key subjects like Python, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Deep Learning right from the early semesters. The inclusion of electives such as IoT, Cloud Computing, and NLP made it future-relevant and versatile.

From the 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. So many companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Gst Global, etc. are visited for placements. These companies provide placement for all the branches of the college. 90 percent of the students get placements. I prefer to go for higher studies after getting the degree.
