Remarks

Academically my college is pretty good. But just the College union is a bit powerful.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am studying a 3 yrs degree course which has 2 semesters a year. All in all we have 6 semesters for 3 yrs. Before our semesters we have our internals which are taken with full security. By semester syllabus it has become easy for us to learn and the practicals we have will help us in near future. Our college also provides communicative English courses an photography courses.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 16000 per year

Placement Experience

I still haven't availed any of the internships or placements. I have heard that companies like TCS comes to our college.

College Events

Its performs seminars science Congress conferences. Rabindra jayanti, Nazrul jayanti Republic day, Independence day, college Foundation day, freshers welcome, annual feast, brasha boron, bosonto utsav, Teachers day, and all other possible programs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its feasible every semester we have to pay like 8000 nearly including course fees, lab fees, subsect fees, college maintenance fees, examination fees and other mislenious fees. All total yearly 8000+8000 we have to pay 16000 for the botany honours course. I am currently in semester 4.

Fees and Financial Aid

Nope I haven't availed any scholarship by far. It will be highly helpful if I get a scholarship based on merit.

Campus Life

Gender ratio is nearly equal, students from different place and all religion come to study. Politically the college is strong. Sexual harassment and ragging is punishable in our college. Students follow instructions given by the college authority. The college has its cultural society and head.

Hostel Facilities

Nope the college doesn't have any hostel of it's own. I stay in a pg near my college. It is a sharing pg. I have a roommate with whom I have to share by room. I pay a monthly 5000 rs to my pg for both fooding and lodging. But the food provided is not upto tha mark.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes some seniors are helpful. They help us in our projects field works and with study materials. The seniors in the college union are also helpful.

Admission

I filled up form online through the college website. Then on the basis of Mark's merit list I was called for admission and then all procedure happens. Admission notification came in college website in end of June or first of July and admission continues till August 11th.

Faculty

They are very well educated specifically the science faculties. Some of them have qualified national and international level scholarships like Shamaproshad mukherjee scholarship and others. Some have an abroad degree. A professor of chemistry department has an doctorate degree from China.

Likes

Campus is nice. There's greenery and all
SOME of the faculties are really good and those said teachers will actually look out for you and care
Mentors are appointed for each students who are responsible for their final year project, publications and LORs. If you are lucky, you'll get a good mentor.

Dislikes

Classrooms are less compared to the number of students. Students have to wander around the building after each classes to find seats. Classrooms are very dirty
There's literally NOTHING in the labs. Experiments take way long to prepare and perform because reagents and equipments are never available.
Hardly a 2 week summer break (because of MAKAUT). Students cannot even apply to good internships because no lab would take in external students in july or august.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Good enough

Likes

The faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive. Most teachers explain concepts clearly and are approachable after class for doubts and guidance, which helps a lot during exams.
The college has a disciplined academic environment with regular classes and practical sessions. Laboratories are functional and help students understand concepts through hands-on learning.
The campus environment is calm and student-friendly. Various seminars, cultural programs, and academic activities help in overall personality development.

Dislikes

Industry exposure and internship guidance are minimal, which could be improved to make students more job-ready after graduation.
Infrastructure can be improved, especially classrooms and laboratory equipment. Some facilities feel outdated and require modernization.
Placement opportunities for BSc students are limited. The college focuses more on academics, so students need to prepare for higher studies or competitive exams on their own.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Likes

I like the campus , it is quite huge and green , the canteen has both cooked and packed food available, a seperate common room for students and many sports equipment available. Several functions are arranged along with international conferences held
All the faculty members are soft spoken , knowledgeable and friendly, it is easy to find help regarding anything.
Professors are strict about their syllabus and subjects , paying proper attention to the students. Practicals classes are conducted without fail.

Dislikes

There is nothing as such that I disliked because I am a first year student so I haven't been so much involved yet , I think that the washrooms should be cleaned properly to maintain the hygiene apart from thjs everything is fine.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Subjects offered in the college as well as the minor and idc subjects are well adhered to the curriculum and future aspects. The subject combinations are apt and futuristic. It moderately prepares one for real world situations.

How is it like to be a part of Presidency University!

Likes

I like the facilities available including air conditioner, lab equipments, projector screen for slideshow, canteen and overall the campus
I also appreciate the faculties because they have studied in highly reputed institutes and undoubtedly teach the best.
I like how the college focuses not only on academics but also on co curricular. Sports, cultural functions, workshops are held frequently. It keeps the students engaged in fruitful activities

Dislikes

I do not like the multidisciplinary courses that we have to study in the first year making it little burdened for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

College is under Ramakrishna Mission so you can imagine the discipline. Fully disciplined college no ragging.
Good . You have to balance with disciplined college.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Reasons to not apply for NSHM Knowledge Campus

Likes

The admission process was very smooth, the administration board is very helpful.
The library is huge and the content of books is very good
College life and fests are good but not great

Dislikes

Placements are absolutely bogus. There were almost no good placements when i passed out part of it can be blamed on covid but mostly the college was largely at fault
Faculty was not upto the mark in regards to the hefty college fees we were charged
Even during covid online classes we were charged full fee which is again absolutely horrendous

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Likes

Examination Questions And Syllabus are good.
Faculties and Facilities are good enough.
College and evaluation system is good enough.

Dislikes

Timings of examinations per semester is reduced.
Examination centres are given far away from college.
Fees is little bit Higher for many poor students.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.

Love for my college

Likes

College library there are ample amount of books to br studied on.
College campus. There are no such ragging related activities have been encouraged in our college
Professors and seniors they help us a lot.

They campus needed to be cleaned and hygiene.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I found mathematics an interesting discipline to take up for my future so i opted. The faculties are well educated and behaved. We get regular classes with doubt solving session. The professors also help us with our doubts and extra classes.

I applied for many college not only Surender nath I apply in Balurghat Kuwait college Siliguri college Raiganj University and Ashutosh college and also surendranath College where I am now study in. The reason of choice this college is the college is very good and there is no ragging issue even the college authorities are take strict action for ragging issues the professors are very good and their very caring and harmful and the college is to closer from Shailesh station where I can easily private for my home and college in under of the prestigious University called Calcutta University that's why I take admission in this college. I am not rejecting of any college where I applied but I choose surendranath because this college is suitable for my situations and I happy to study in this college. I applied in many colleges like THK, bangabasi, jaipuria, maulana azad and many more. I chose this college because of its low fees and its less restrictive. And also its convenient to reach. One needs more than 50% percent to get admission in thjs college. Students with higher higher marks gets preference in admission.
