KGMU, Lucknow
BEST COLLEGE
REMARKS
The college management is quite helpful and runs smoothly.
FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES
The fee structure is very feasible here, it being a government university. Also there's absolute transparency in the fee breakdown. It consists of tuition fee, exam fee, library fee, development fee, hostel fee, electricity fee, mess fee, other fee, etc.
PLACEMENT WING
The placement of the university is almost 100 percent, with alumni spread all over the world. Its alumni are called Georgians.
ADMISSION
I got admission to this prestigious university by getting myself a rank in the merit list of CPMT in 2015. But now there's only one medical entrance examination nation wide, ie. NEET. I live in lucknow so it was also an obvious choice for me. Its a dream of any medical aspirant to get admission in this university.
HOSTEL FACILITIES
Yes I have opted for the hostel. The hostels are double seated except for the second year that is single seater. The hostel for internship is triple seater. The rooms are good and ventilated and spacious.
ALUMNI
The seniors and other alumni are very helpful here. There's absolutely no ragging in the campus. You could freely interact with any senior here.
FACULTY
The faculty of the university is world class. Like any other university this one too has a hierarchy of faculty members comprising of a Head, Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in each of the departments. The faculty members are at least post graduated and also hold a lot of fellowships from many institutions.
CAMPUS LIFE
The campus life is quite good with its infrastructure resembling that of any monument. The gender ratio is really impressive of nearly 3:2. There are a lot of extra curricular activities to do here. There's an annual sports meet held too. Its actually quite fun to go for a walk after dinner.
COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
The course comprises of a total of 5. 5 years, consisting of 4. 5 years of study and 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship. There's a professional examination in the end of every year of academics followed by practicals. You need to pass each of these separately.
COLLEGE EVENTS
The college celebrates a number of cultural and academic festivals throughout the year. There's a Freshers' Party for the 1st year students. A farewell party for the last year students. But the grandest of them all is the Rhapsody, held yearly in the month of December.
LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS
Though I have not opted for any scholarship, but there's a scholarship program for those who are below the poverty line. There entire hostel fee is returned. They virtually study for free.
