Typical College

Good: facilities, infrastructure, Architecture of the campus, greenery, events etc. Bad: teaching, transportation etc.

Curriculum and syllabus are experimentary and has good potential in making the students more than better professionals, it is research driven, fair and relevant, but the problem is half of the staff can't handle that level of teaching. There are few industrial visits and few companies hire students through on campus placements.

The placement offers of our college varies with branches, the number of companies and number of students hired were more for the ECE amd CSE branches. Coming to our branch the hiring percentage is around 10%, there's a pre-placement training program is conducted every year and those who attended this program were only allowed for placement drives. Generally, this college doesn't recommend any companies and doesn't issue certificates, students were on their own in finding companies and they're responsible to get a training certificate from that company.

GEC Fest is all in one festival where all the technical, cultural and sports competition were conducted, this festival is bigger than other other college festivals in the surroundings, various colleges even from different states participate in the events conducted by our college.

For a college in remote location and mediocre studies and facilities, the fees demanded by the college is somewhat high. The college fee for all the courses is around 83000 per year, the college accepts almost all kinds of payments i. e UPI payments, atm deposits, bank deposits etc, we can pay the fee in installments by taking permission from the principal. There are various fees/charges we should pay to continue the course.

State government provides part/full fees reimbursement for the students who are admitted in to the college through entrance exam, the scholarship issued by the government is varied by the caste of the students. Students can avail education loan and college will help students in obtaining the loan. The college also provide scholarship for poor and Merit students which is pretty low. The government provides 35000rs fee reimbursement and additional scholarship per year, the college provides 10000rs for selected student on engineer's day.

The gender ratio varies from branch, for example, mechanical branch has 30:1 boy to girl ratio and CSE branch has 1:2 boy to girl ratio. Parties were conducted by students on engineer's day and for freshers and farewell days. Various workshops were conducted in the college atleast one workshop a month. There is less casteism and gender bias in this college almost everybody is friendly and nice.

I don't have any interaction with the alumni but the senior students were helpful and friendly, they give support.

I did civil engineering in diploma, so I continue my higher studies in civil engineering in this college, I choose that course because of future job security and the 1st thing that comes to our mind when we hear the word engineering is civil. I chose this college because this is the best college in the 35km radius from my home. I got an eligible rank in ecet exam, an applied for this college in web counseling. I got a seat here and I submitted all my documents in this college and paid fees. Now I'm a student here.

In my course there around 30 lecturers present including assistant professors, the average age of the staff is 35-40. Half of the staff are not fully capable of teaching the subject with perfection, clarity is mediocre. But many of them write papers, journals, nptel videos and participate in many more events and has certificates.
