Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The college is affiliated to the state University of Goa and the course is designed by the University itself keeping in mind the latest advancement in the field of medical. We have a very hectic schedule throughout the course.

Placement Experience

The college provides a compulsory internship for one year with a stipend of 20,000 which is not bad. We are posted in government hospital with a large number of footfall helping us to get a good exposure.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since the college is government aided, we are benefited when it comes tot he fee as the fee for the course is bare minimum and is like nominal to me. It is only 15,000 per semester including the examination fee.

Campus Life

The college life is pretty great with the management organizing many cultural activities. The infrastructure is pretty decent given the fact that it is one of the oldest medical colleges of the Asia. The cafeteria serves decent food within the budget.

Admission

My admission was facilitated by the all india medical entrance exam. The college prepared the merit list and the students were taken based on their scored obtained in the NEET exam further which the selected candidates were called for the counseling.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty are nice and helping with most of them being the doctors in their respective fields and then teach us at the college. With their deep level of understanding in their respective subjects, we are gaining a lot of knowledge.

Reasons to not Join this College: By a ex-student

Likes

The surroundings is quite mesmerizing...

Dislikes

The faculties are rude and extremely toxic.
The faculties don't have clear understandings of the syllabus.. the lack of alignment with prescribed syllabus leads to high failure rate with nearly 60% of students failing in each semester
Quite often the semester examination papers include topics that were not covered by the teachers in class. in My class 23/75 students got block(year back). Which must be highest rate of failures across entire India

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is the same across all the 5 colleges It's too outdated to be studied Not relevant for modern-day job markets Students often have to study different materials to crack a job. Youtibe is best solution to clear the concepts

Beyond the Classroom: A Student's Review of Sridora Caculo College

Likes

The faculty members are genuinely approachable, which makes it much easier to seek guidance beyond the standard syllabus
Located in the heart of Mapusa, the college’s central position makes daily commuting very convenient
Campus events like "Caculo’s Got Talent" , "Synergy" "IT Maestro " and "phoenix"offer a great, fun break from the academic routine.

Dislikes

The single-building campus structure can feel a bit restrictive for those expecting a more traditional, expansive campus atmosphere.
Due to the affiliation with Goa University, the curriculum can sometimes feel slightly dated and less aligned with rapidly changing industry trends.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell here is honestly one of the best parts of the experience—they’re super proactive, always keeping us on our toes with mock interviews and workshops that actually feel useful. We get into the placement groove in our final year, and it’s pretty cool to see the results. We’ve seen packages hit as high as ₹7.5 LPA, with an average around ₹3.8 LPA, which is a solid start in this industry. It’s great to see a variety of companies coming in, from tech-focused ones like RightScope, Transerve Technology, Letsapp, MinksPay, and Webnook to major recruiters like Bajaj Allianz, IDBI Bank, and Bharti AXA Life Insurance. A good number of my batchmates have already landed roles through these drives. As for me, I’m planning to take all the practical, hands-on skills I’ve picked up from my internships and extra tech courses and dive straight into the IT sector. Between that and the doors opened by the college’s MoU with the Goa Technology Association (GTA), I feel like I’ve got a real head start in the professional world.

less campus area and sports timings are limited

Placement Experience:

Placements are good like averages of chemical is 12 lpa and there is good placement percentage ratio like 75 percent and if in case of no placements further study is possible option as bits have connection to many best institues in the world.

The first college I had applied for is Armed forces medical College(AFMC) but I was declared physically unfit there after that as of my rank I look up upon various parameters of the colleges and finally applied for it. The parameters were - the college should be old (goa medical College is oldest medical College of Asia) - college should be reputed - Academics and facilities should be better etc...Read More

Best review for Goa Medical College

I choose this college over other colleges beacause its year of establishment is 1852, but i found that year of establishment doesn't matter in MBBS as much we think. Admission process is too easy. You have to get good score in NEET and from counseling you if you get this college then go to academic section and they will guide you properly....Read More

Bachelor of optometry in Goa medical college

I wanted to try for armed forced medical college as I wanted to serve the army along with the medicine and other requirements but was not possible as I couldn't score much in neet and I had to settle for whatever I was getting and I was happy with it. If I had studied a boy more I would have been able to get into my dream college Me choosing smgnc was completely my choice as it was nearby and I could travel and be home on time and also manage my other activities and studies as well without loosing on the time I get to enjoy. Our course requires the NEET entrance exam to be cleared and the admission is started once the results are out by filling the form for admission and the rounds are started...Read More
