Remarks

The library includes the air-conditioned reading hall and has a calm atmosphere so that the students can concentrate on their work.The library subscribes to Indian and foreign journals and magazines. The Institute provides adequate library facilities for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

Well defined course with gives a boost to learning along with great explanation by the teachers. Although the course is very vast, but the way it is designed is absolutely amazing. You get to learn from the very basics of each topic and move to the most advanced level with appropriate time being given of each topic.

There many companies that come for placement like Uniqlo (Japan), Victorinox (Germany), PUCA Shoes (Dubai), Apparel Group (Kuwait), Zomato, D?ords, Blackberry, Dixcy Textiles & world? second largest clothing brand H&M came to FDDI for campus recruitments. Companies like Superhouse, Versatile enterprises, Campus Shoes, Arvind Footwear, Indo-Euro footwear, Cosmique Group, House of Raisons, Tack Exim, Shantanu & Nikhil, Harpreet Narula have selected students from FDDI.

Fee Structure And Facilities

While other universities demand a high price for the course, this college offers you the same education at a lower fee structure of around ? 151,800 per year and a reliable one also. And hence nominal fee charges are levied by the college

Campus Life

Extra-curricular activities are of also importance at FDDI-Kolkata. It is our firm belief that a broad-based all-round education leads to young adults that have an edge in the world and can meet all life's challenges.There are sports activities and events organized around the year for students to take a a break from their studies.

Admission

The Students those completed their 12th are eligible to get admission. Since the applicants are always high in number, it is preferable to score marks in 10+2. Moreover every student has to sit for a annual FDDI AIST exam also as a pre-requisite

Faculty

Fashion Design, Footwear Design and Production Management, Visual Merchandiser and Retail are the main areas of interest of the faculties. They have a lot of expertise in their area and hence they are very good at teaching curriculum.

Likes

Fixed timetable Classes, regular assessment and class test
The professors are very qualified and their teaching style is excellent.
A lot of books are available in the main library as well as in the department library

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus and curriculum of Calcutta University is aligned with other entrance examination (eg.IIT JAM, JEST, TIFR, GATE etc.) Specially for the Physics BSc course. And the syllabus is updated Artificial intelligence bacis, Python Advance level is in syllabus, it's completed in college. Point to be Noted - The time given to prepare for the exam is sometimes ample but sometimes it is very less. So we have to prepare syllabus in time which is little bit frustrating.

One of the things i liked the most was the quality of lecture given by the professors
The campus is very spacious the college has every facility
A fully equipted studio and lab for Journalism students

Dislikes

Things i disliked was the most has to be the locality the college is really nice but the locality is a bit shady

I always wanted to take up Journalism as a career and the thing which caught my attention in this college is that they have a fully equipted studio room and other colleges may have one but the students even publish there own news report here it prepars us very well for the real world

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Likes

The discipline is followed very strictly.Also you have access to library which is good,teachers are helpful and no ragging policy which is strictly followed and has a decent environment.
Thery conduct seminars which encourages students.Many faculty members are knowledgeable experienced in their respective subjects and helpful willing to solve doubts beyond the classroom also.
The college has decent infrastucture including classrooms,labs and library .

Dislikes

While the curriculum is decent ,it lacks sufficeint practical implementation.More hands on projects,real world application and industry exposure would improve learning significantly.
Campus life can sometimes fell limited in terms of active student interaction.Opportunites for clubs,networking and collaborative activities could be improved.
The college comes under St tHomas School so the campus is not great it is compact and has a canteen.

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Likes

The campus is big and full of greenery with the vibrant feel of nature.
The students of the same batch are friendly and helpful.
The teacher's are friendly and helpful. They do provide helpful recommendations for the betterment of your future.

Dislikes

The seniors are overly harsh when it comes to 1st year.
The infrastructure could be worked on. The college lacks renovation.
The hostel does require everyday cleaning and renovation as well as the campus.

Placement Experience:

I don't know much about this but I guess from the sixth semester the students are eligible for campus placements. This year a student from AEIE got a package of 11.2 lacs per annum and the average is around 4 lacs per annum.

The Framework is said to be great, with well equipped classroom and simply get to the libraries.
The offices at this college are great. In any case, these changes depending on the quality of the companies going by the college and the victory of the internship changes by the internship.
Understudies appreciate the campus life and flexibility to associate with others understudies. However, there are few impediments such as the division of floors between senior and junior. College life is nice and could be an inviting place for others

Dislikes

The college doesn't have lodging, and understudies must organize their settlement locally.
The college doesn't have a big field to play like any other big college

Placement Experience:

In Syamaprasad College placements and internships are given to the final year students. And the companies that offer placements are Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG, etc. The highest package goes up to 20-24 lakhs and the average package goes to 6-8 lakhs. 70-80% of students get their placement in my college. At that time I planned to get the degree and apply to a multinational company with a high salary package with company facilities.

Likes

Good Infrastructure.One of the best campus.
Living ideal life.Living like Maharaj ji (monks of Ramkrishna mission)
Lab are the one of the best lab.All machines are in working condition .

Dislikes

Canteen food.The canteen food is not good for those who travel far from home.
In raining days roads are flooded.Other time every thing is at its place.
You cannot bunk classes.If you caught by Maharaj ji you will be punished.

Placement Experience:

5th semester students are eligible for the campus interview. The companies are coming in our college is L&T,TATA STEEL,JINDAL GROUP etc. 90% students get placement in our college. Average package is 1.5 LPA and Highest package is 2.5 LPA in our batch. I want to do higher studies.

Likes

The faculties are very good and very active. They are always ready to help
Campus is very beautiful and nice. Campus may be a little bit smaller but it is beautiful.
Environment is very good. And have a natural's beauty

Location is a thing which may difficult to find out.
Number of faculties are small quantity due to the college is newly established
Because of the college is new so therefore not huge like any NIT or IIT

After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. There many service based companies visited like TCS ,Cognizant, wipro, Infosys. Almost 60-70% student placed in on campus. Highest package offered by TCS 9-10lpa and Cognizant 6-7lpa wipro 6-7lpa infosys 10lpa etc. 60-70% student getting placement I will go for placement
