Ranked 16 for Engineering by NIRF.The average package is somewhere around 6-7 LPA. Coming to the campus life, the campus life is very good in NIT ROURKELA. The campus is very big with lots of trees, canteens, sorts complexes, badminton, tennis, basketball courts.
Course Curriculum Overview
The teachers here are seriously highly qualified. Most of them have done their higher studies in popular and reputed institution like IITs and many other foreign institution. The professors are also very friendly and clear doubts if you approach them. Yes, the course curriculum is quite good. But there are some subjects which have little roles in making students industry ready like sociology, Sanskrit, biology for engineering students etc. Generally these courses don't have very high credits and are easy to score. The branch professors are also very knowledgeable.
College Events
The campus is very big with lots of trees, canteens, sorts complexes, badminton, tennis, basketball courts. Football and cricket stadiums are also there. Here there are many clubs registered under SAC which encourage extra curricular activities. Singing, dancing, sports, drama, technical, coding etc. Are to name a few.
Campus Life
The classrooms are very spacious here. The average sized classrooms here can hold upto 70-80 students. The biggest classrooms can also hold about 120 students. The Central library is huge and has a lots of books. Generally all books required for branch studies are easily available here. We have LAN facilities in our hostel room which provides very good data speed. All branches have their own labs. In our chemical department we have multiple labs, equipped with almost all things required to do the course experiments. The major labs are also present in the main building which are generally accessible by the first year students.
