SRM University Sonepat, B.Tech, Computer Science and Engineering

Reviewed on Jul 26, 2020

Remarks

About 80% of the students from computer science and engineering course got placed. The highest salary package offered was 6 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 1.8 LPA. Many top companies, like OpenText, Uber, HCL Technologies, Mindtree, etc, visit our college to recruit students from our batch. Roles like graduate engineer trainee, software analyst, software testing and developer are offered to the students. About 65% of the students got an internship in companies like Webtek Private Limited, BSNL, Airtel and OpenText.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Teachers in our college are very cooperative, educated, helpful and sharp-minded. They all are PhD holders. They have many years of teaching experience, so they know how to tackle with students. They teach them with good knowledge. The course curriculum is the best in the university which build our future.

College Events

4.5

Many events are celebrated for example the most important is the annual cultural fest. Campus Life is good if you want to have fun but there is so and so much of restrictions also that you will find for example you will not get any sports equipment if it is not the lunch break time. And there is only one canteen and a small Nescafe kiosk only in the whole campus. The gender ratio in our department is good. Labs are well managed and updated.

Hostel Facilities

Facilities of our department are very cooperative and helpful. The infrastructure of our college is quite impressive. Our college provides well-equipped labs like a material science lab with well-equipped materials, computer labs with good LAN connections and software installed with the latest version. Classrooms are also well-designed with the ventilation system, air-conditioned and projector. The library has a strict discipline and books of the latest edition. I stayed at my home, so I don't have any idea about hostel life and mess. The campus has a hospital which helps visitors from nearby villages for treatment. The canteen is well-spaced, and it serves good food quality and quantity with many items on the menu. Sports and games play a major role in college life, so there are many teams for sports.

Amity University Gurgaon is a good option

Likes

The campus is modern and has a nice vibe.
The environment is good for learning and exploring creativity.
The infrastructure and overall college atmosphere are impressive.

Dislikes

The fees are quite high compared to many other colleges.
More practical exposure and industry projects would be helpful.
Placement details and internship opportunities could be communicated more clearly.

Placement Experience:

Placements in interior design depend a lot on your skills, creativity, and portfolio. Amity Gurgaon could provide opportunities to explore internships and connect with professionals in the industry. After completing the course, I would like to work with an interior design firm, gain practical experience, and eventually build my own identity in the field. I feel that developing strong design skills and gaining industry exposure will be important for my career.

Good campus with a lot of greenery and a peaceful environment for students.
Teachers are mostly supportive and actical classes are helpful for understanding the subjects.
Good labs, library and sports facilities with many activities happening on campus.

Dislikes

Some administrative work takes more time than expected and can be a little confusing.
Hostel and mess facilities can be improved, especially in terms of food variety and quality
Sometimes the workload and attendance requirements feel a little stressful for students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course curriculum is quite relevant and covers the important basics of Biotechnology. We get both theory and practical classes which helps in understanding the subjects better. Exams are usually moderate. I think more industry based projects and practical exposure can make the course even better. Overall, I am satisfied with the curriculum.

Not Perfect, But a Worth Campus It for the Right Student

The admission process at SRM Sonepat was smooth and simple. I applied online through the official website. You can get in either through the SRMJEEE entrance exam or through direct admission based on your 12th marks. SRMJEEE is the most preferred way, and students who score well often get good scholarships too (from 10% to 100% tuition fee waiver). I took direct admission since I didn’t take SRMJEEE. The eligibility was 50% or more in Class 12 with PCM subjects. Overall, I found the admission experience quite stress-free. They provide decent guidance and support throughout the process, and I got my seat confirmed quickly without any hidden issues....Read More

SRM UNIVERSITY, Sonipat, Haryana

I applied for PIET and geeta university also other than SRM, in PIET I was having difficulty for daily transportation and also they don't allow bunks or getting out of college before college time, also there scholarship scheme was not that much good, where as in geeta university it was still under development of there labs and other facilities and also the campus was not that large, it also carried the problem of transportation, as my older brother is also a passout from SRM University, it was easy for me to get transportation facilities from my door, and also I cleared scholarship exam that gave me 50% scholarship and now our university is the only university with NAAC A+ credit. Also the admission department was nice than PIET. For scholarship criteria there are several options like 10th and 12th grades , JEE score , JEEE ( college based entrance exam) which are good way of getting scholarship. the JEEE cutoffs are based on marks in early stages, and later based on ranks as it is conducted 5-7 times during the admission time....Read More
