Remarks

1) It is near to my home. 2) Best for engineering in my opinion bcz the exposure u can get here is unbeatable with ample number of workshops and organizations within campus. 3) The options for extra co-circular activities are endless

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good but might not be good for day scholars in some situations. For eg say teacher is on leave for second last lecture and the lecture was for 2 hrs. Hostlers can go and rest in rooms for 2 hrs but day scholars have no such privilege of going in hostels. They need to somehow pass there time. Some faculties are great while some not so great. Some great faculties in CSE i have met - Awdhesh sir, Sripada Lakshmi mam, Mohit sir, Varun singla sir and Palak Kohli mam.

Internships Opportunities

I am campus ambassador at Board Infinity. It is basically a social media marketing internship. The stipend varies from work done per month.

Placement Experience

There is a separate placement related department in the university which solely maintains the placement drives and conducts drives etc. Almost every company visits our campus for CSE department. Highest package was recently grabbed by Tanya of 42 lacs in Microsoft. I personally dont know much about alumni networking but i bet it is great. Notable alumni is Sumit sharma currently working in Lucidius. He was my senior and founder of organization 'cyberhack' at LPU.

College Events

There are so many technical workshops happening all the time organized by various campus organizations. Also there are various live concerts mostly once a month or even twice depending on various factors. Various organizations like Youthvibe and others are always organizing such stuff. There are marathons, gaming competitions, inter-school sports meet, cultural fest, One World One India culture fest, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got 42% off on my fees with the LPU NEST scholarship test conducted by the university upon admission.

Campus Life

I cud not have expected anything better than wat i have received in LPU. Though some labs like google labs are not accessible to all but overall the infrastructure is excellent. Great uni wifi as well as Jio wifi (1 GB per day i think), 2 libraries (1 main which is big and has 3 floors), and also all kind of sports available here with olympic size swimming pool also available.

A perfect college to take admission for a good future

Likes

Interactions with lecturers from internation universities like- harvard and university of scotland
The mentors and faculties were supportive
They used to conduct placement assistance aswell.

Placement Experience:

We were offered placement assistance as it was an online program and i really think it is a good initiative because college are least bothered for placements for their online programs. As i had to pursue a career in marketing i started doing projects and internships in marketing and sales domain.

Attendence i perdonally didn't like, but it is mandatory
little bit parking issue inside the campus
overall college is good, you can go for it but not for placements

Placement Experience:

Rest everything is good with college, only i have issue with placement, since there are very poor or only core sales job in punjab, college is able to provide that only. You have to work your ass off if you want to get good placement, provided their education quality is good

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Teachers have a lot of knowledge and are very supportive.
Busy opd , hence enough number of patients for practical studies.
Reaserch is very much promoted and supported.

Dislikes

There is no proper sports complex yet .
There is no gym in campus , for gym we have to go out of the campus.
There is no college fest of our college.

Since we all know MBBS is course for being a doctor . As being doctor was a dream of mine i chosed this course.MBBS course is quite hectic but this is required since after completion of course we will become doctors and patients like will be in our hands. Frequency and timing of exams is already discussed in previous question.

The best thing is that it is very affordable and enhance your knowledge at various aspects.
The second thing is there are extra hostel charges.
And conducts various conferences and workshops for enhancing students knowledge

The location of the college is not that much good.
You have to travel half an hour to reach market.
The hostel rules disallow you for high voltage electricals

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

An In-Depth Look at Campus Life and opportunities at Chandigarh University

I think, the campus is being liked by everyone whether its staff member or a student, because the university consists of many blocks or departments and that too are named as A1, A2, A3, A4 & B1, B2, B3, B4, B5 & C1, C2, C3 & D1,D2,D3,D4,D5,D6,D7,D8
Parks and all are made for the relaxation purpose of the student
Car Parkings are available separately for the students and staff and that also inside the campus which is ambitious.

Dislikes

The semester fees and other expenses is relatively higher as compared to other institutions
Some students find the university’s rule such as strict attendance policies and accurate timings for the classes, quite stringent
Mostly 2 common times, one is in morning nearby 8.50 AM to 9.50 AM and in evening nearby 3.50 PM to 5.00 PM, the rush is like horses and buffaloes! There is so much over crowded & most of the crowd occurs by the Autos, but no one do anything for that

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i have opted the course B.Pharmacy! I rate the course as optimal, neither too bad nor too good, its medium! Now comes on teaching method, some teachers are really well and good and few are those who does not teaches but only writing writing, thats it, they will not explain at all! And one thing they should change is that All Courses except B.Pharmacy in Chandigarh University have the criteria to pass the student even below the 40% only or the half of the highest number scored by the topper in the class, and for Bpharmacy its minimum requirement to pass the exam is 50%, Oh My God! This needs to be changed, Now every year, in Bpharmacy, the overall 80% students are getting Compartments (Back/Fail) in the subjects, but the University is not understanding it all. So this should be changed as earlier!

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
