Remarks

It is the number one Engineering college in Tamilnadu.I will get job easily. The course that I have choosen has a great value. So I chose my college. It is the head university which controls all other affiliated engineering colleges in tamilnadu. We will be trained well as an engineer,if we study in this college. It also includes many culturals.

Course Curriculum Overview

Yeah my course is the updated one.Our course syllabus was updated last year. The facilities are well experienced people. They are also well graduated.Vigneswaran,my faculty who is a young faculty, though he teaches well.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 15000 per year

Placement Experience

Placement of CEG is good with top MNCs Microsoft, JP, SAP, ONGC, Pidilite, HP, Larsen & Turbo visiting the campus. As per the latest data derived from Shiksha.com reviews, the highest package was around Rs 17 LPA while the average package was around Rs 6 LPA.

College Events

Cultural events are the best things in ou college. They allow us to interact with other college students too. Many other college students attend our campus activities.Because it is a good thing to get a certificate with our university seal.Techofeos, our college event which is the biggest cultural event in South India. Many celebrities attend our event. They are awarded in our function.Kurukshetra,a technical event of our college is one of the best event in India.More number of students from other colleges Attend this event

Fees and Financial Aid

community scholarship is available.Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students : Based on 80% of marks in the H.S.C Exam and can apply from 1st year. Income should be below Rs.6,00,000/- Should not avail any other scholarship. Attendance should be 75% and conduct and character should be good. No arrears for renewal.

Campus Life

Everything is very good in our campus. We have a ground too and wifi facilities are available. And the hostel facilities are good in our campus.Library also holds many Books, from all subjects.Lab equipments are enough for all athe students in a particular session. We have anna wifi, which is to be registered and then we can use.It seems sometimes slow. But it is very useful.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are too good in our college. We have more number of hostels with good facilities.A room contains four beds. And the toilets are maintained clean.Food is also good in our hostels.Intime for girl's hostel is 8.30 PM and for boy's hostel it is 9.00PM.Our workers clean our hostels regularly.Rc takes care of the students.Electricity facilities are good. But the water facility is the odd one,as our hostel located at Chennai,it is essential to save water. So water facility is limited.

Hostel Fee: INR 26000 per year

Placement Experience:

In our University from the starting of Seventh semester we are eligible for campus placements. Campanies like Jubilant food works, Zifo Technologies, Amura Heath Pvt.Ltd, Biocon etc. were some of the companies that visited our campus. Around fifty students got offers from these companies. About 70 percentage of the students got placements successfully. I am planning to pursue a master degree abroad

Love the Research setup of our college. Has more than 15 COEs present. ABB research centre is the best among them
The bring in a lot of industry professionals every. One or the other event always keeps happening.

Dislikes

Campus is not very huge since it's in the centre of the city but the outside shops make up for this

Placement Experience:

From the very entry into your third year, you will be eligible to most of the placements. The training provided is very exquisite and some of the trainings start as early as 1st year. 2026 highest package was 55LPA. Many companies like from product companies like Microsoft, Capgemini to service based companies like TCS, INFOSYS etc.. visit our campus for regular placements. About 98% of people placed as far as I have heard.

A Good College Experience with Opportunities for Learning and Growth

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is fairly relevant and comprehensive, covering both theoretical concepts and practical applications. It provides a good foundation for technical knowledge, but including more industry-oriented projects, hands-on training, and updated technologies would make it even better for future career opportunities.

more pratical training industry visit and real world case studies should be included in the mba curriculum to improve learning.

Likes

It is better than my old college and giving free food and place to sit in the college campus.
In sports they are also helping for dearness allowance for playing matches and travelling.
They are also giving us the space to study and ask doubts without any hesitation

Dislikes

Canteen is not good and it is very congested
Some of teachers are not coming to the classes properly and they are also not teaching properly
Home guard is the problem in college. They are always making issues while parking the vehicles

Course Curriculum Overview:

Studying Master of commerce is okay. The same thing and few same subjects which I studied in undergraduate. Classes are good and we are also having some gaps. Not a big difference and 1 or 2 subjects are new for us. I want to suggest that to give holiday after the semester exams. But not before that. It is quite difficult for us to study. It will be easy for us to ask doubts.

The admission process was so simple for both regular and lateral entry students. The must attain certain cutoff to get admission in CEG. The diploma students can join as lateral entries and they too need certain percentage to get admission. Every department has a specific cut off percentage to join in them. The students can join through counciling process. The counciling process will held separately for regular and lateral entry students. The college fees will be reduced uf the student is a first graduate or belongs to sc/st community. Scholarships will be provided for students based on their parents income or through academic performance. The students should score more percentage because then only they can get admission in the department they want to study....Read More

Enriching learning experience at CEG

The eligibility condition is a minimum cut-off in physics, chemistry, and mathematics in class 12 board exams. The candidate should have scored a minimum of 50 percent in those subjects if he belongs to the general category. The minimum percentage is 40 percent for the reserved categories. The cut-off marks for the previous years can be seen from the following link: cutoff.tneaonline.org. The application form can be found online on the official TNEA(Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission) website (tneaonline.org/home). The servers of the admission website lag when there is more than usual internet traffic. That infrastructure can be improved and worked upon. This would ensure a smoother admission process for the applicants. The college code for the College of Engineering Guindy is 0001. The application process includes counseling and document verification....Read More
