Isabella Thoburn Degree College Lucknow, B.Com, General

Reviewed on Aug 26, 2020

Remarks

My Aunt studied here during her graduation, so this was always the first option for me. I had opted for commerce and B.com was the only commerce related degree available here. The discipline of this college is excellent and there are various extracurricular activities that keep the students occupied all year round.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is a standard graduation one. The faculty is very supportive and cooperative, they go above and beyond their means to make learning easy and interesting for us. I couldn't name one teacher, they were all helpful in their own ways. We have atleast 5-6 seminars every year that cover a broad no. of topics from how to crack competitive exams to how to build a CV. They have recently introduced an Industrial training course with Reliance ICT (exclusively for increasing financial literacy)

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 24000 per year

Placement Experience

We happen to have a Career counciling cell in our college that takes care of the needs of the students regarding future job opportunities and further studies

College Events

The campus life is very vibrant and energetic. There are events happening every now and then, some of them being as small as Thursday, Friday Assemblies while the others being as large as AURA (the most anticipated event in the college life of LUCKNOW City), students from every college wish to be a part of it. The management events are more of a concern of The MBA department.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college has annual scholarship for the best performing and the allrounder students of the college.

Campus Life

The infrastructure dates back to the early 1900's and still stands tall in all its majesty. The library is divided into two sections one of them being the American Corner with computer equipments too.

The college is very good his infrastructure is very good. Faculty memebrs and teachers are very good in this during study they explain the topic in hindi and english both by giving a real life example. So student get understand easily.
In my college many department are there like startup department, play department sat specially in my college there is to much craze about startup so if any student want to start own startup so college will provide all the things and fundings also.
In our college there is research and patent department if you want to publish your research paper so this department will help you in this. And there is placement cell is there who help you to acchieve you a good placement in your course.

Dislikes

The one thing which i dislike that our college is very punchual about attendence. If your attendence is less than 75 percent so you will get detained and you will not get opportunity to give exam.

Placement Experience:

Placement is very good in this college. From 3rd year student gets placements. In our college there is placement cell us there who support you fromna first year and guide you that how to get a placement. And the average pacakage is gone 6 lpa and highest gone is 20 lpa. My plan is that after getting this degree doing mca from this college. About 80 percent of student get placement in this college. The company came TCS, WIPRO, HCL, Tech Mahindra etc.

“A Good College for Learning and Growth”

Likes

Being a CSE student I get the opportunity to learn about computer science and improve my skills The college experience also helps me understand the importance of practical knowledge

Dislikes

The placement support could be improved especially by providing more opportunities for students to get internships and jobs in reputed companies

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course covers important subjects related to computer science and programming. It gives basic technical knowledge, but more practical learning is needed. Exams are held every semester, along with internal tests and practicals. Some subjects are easy, while others need more preparation. Overall, the course is good, but adding more real-world projects would help students learn better.

What I love the most in my university is the muslim culture the way everyone respects their religion and other's too.

Placement Experience:

In my college the placement is over all managed by the centre for career guidance and development that is ccg and d. In my University basically the internship offer to only the pre final year students and placement for final year students. But the Average package is not so good it is around 3-4 LPA.

You can consider it if you aren't looking for any placement.

I didn't applied anywhere else as i was confused what to do so i got admission here. For taking admission you have to give the entrance exam conducted by Isabella thoburn college itself or you can also give Lucknow University entrance exam However i didn't gave any exam because i got admission through sfs format its self financed and has much more fees than students who got through exam....Read More

THE CAREER COUNSELLING CELL

I was thinking to apply in the Lucknow university. But after seeing the competition there I thought I wouldn't give it a chance. So I only applied to this college because Isabella Thoburn College is one of the best known and popular colleges of Lucknow. I choose this college in the first go as I had complete trust on the education and facilities. The admission process is simple , you can apply online or take the offline admission form from the college after checking the eligibility for taking addmission in bsc biology you must have scored 55% above ,after filling the form you can submit it and then you will be asked to keep on checking the college website for the entrance exam date . Now you have to download your admit card if you applied online, or if you applied offline you were given the admit card with the form .Once you gave the exam , wait for a week or longer until your result. Log in and see your result. You will be given a regular seat or self finance one....Read More
