Remarks

National institute of technology rourkela has a great reputation and rank among the universities in india. It is an institute of National importance and has one of the best infrastructure among the institutes in India. The quality of Education and the faculty standard were known to be top notch.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is similar to other institutions.Practical knowledge is seldom considered.Rote learning and mugging up is essential in most subjects to attain a high grade. Most of the faculties arent really interested in teacher except a few of them.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 124000 per year

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement opportunities are good enough compared to other institutions. There is a really high placement rate for Cs and circuital branches.Several companies visit Nit rourkela during the placement season. Also some companies select pre final years for interrnships.

College Events

4.5

The best thing of the NITRKL which makes it different from others is it's club culture. There are so many clubs. You can do and learn everything apart from academics as well. There are so many clubs of dancing, singing, drama, social life, politics, photography, programming, yoga, fashion etc. Chapters of ASM, ASME,AIChE etc. If you're good in sports. You can join badminton, basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, water polo, swimming, table tennis, tennis etc and softball is about to start. It has awesome grounds of almost every sports. And yeah, NITRKL has it's awesome swimming pool(as many IITs, NITs don't have). It has a awesome central gym. And a perticular gym for each hostel(for casual exercises), It has Central library.

Campus Life

NIT Rourkela is spread over 1024 acres making it one of the largest campuses in the country. Also it is filled with greenery. There are currently 7 boys hostels in the campus and 2 girls hostel.Several other important places in the campus are the backpost, your hostel life, SAC, LA(LECTURE avenue), BBA(auditorium), Rangcol(canteen),GOLDEN JUBLIE.

Hostel Facilities

GDB hostel in first year boys hostel and one of the best in the campus. Each hostel has a mess and a garden in front of it.There is hall fest and garden fest held once a year for all hostels. Most of the hostels are dual occupancy.

College students are friendly and affordable
They give many fests and cultural events

Dislikes

They discriminate between girls and boys always
Discriminate between locals and others mainly if you are from Bihar
Many fights between odia and bihari every year

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible in 8th semester for sitting in the college placement the average package is around 3 lakhs mostly companies are startup's like tech yatra , mtechin etc . Major companies like tcs , tech Mahindra also come

Decent faculty and top tier placements, just follow the rules

Likes

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

Dislikes

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Likes

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

A pretty good college with scope of improvement

Likes

The campus life is amazing. Our student union is extremely hard-working, and they always come up with some events or other to make your boredom go away
Faculties are very knowledgeable and unlike most colleges, they actually want to teach. The clinical experience is unmatched
Infrastructure is top notch. Single rooms are available from second year, and the hostels are quite well maintained

Dislikes

The curriculum is a bit too strict regarding marks and attendance. A little leniency would have been better
The campus area is a little smaller compared to other AIIMS
Too much administrative red tape causes delay in almost everything, be it installation of new water filters or filling a pothole

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to become a doctor, and MBBS is the first step to become one, so I choose this course. This course makes you a primary care physician, capable of providing basic healthcare services. And being a bachelor's degree, this is a stepping stone for the future endeavours in medico life. Though I feel there's room for improvement in the flexibility of the course, as there's not much to choose what to study. Exams are once in 2-3 months, and are moderately difficult, except the professional exams, for which you have to put your best efforts

The buildings are too old. Need to improve that.
All the courses are not provided and for UG students they may suffer many problems regarding official things

Course Curriculum Overview:

The frequency of timing is almost good. Student can study properly within the 2 exams time period. Bcom course as well as college as well as faculty is themselves a practical world .What going on this world that mainly study in this world mainly in the subject of economy.

Teaching is very good here , all the teachers are good except a few
Supportive seniors, help with studies n all
You will get a good environment for studies

Dislikes

Well campus isn't as we expected it to be
As always you have to choose your friends wisely
There's not a lot of fests going on yearly as like other colleges

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well MBBS is a serving degree, if you are interested in serving the people you can choose this degree. It also needs a lot of patience, here we have classes from 7 AM so its a bit hard to wake up this early & ends at 4 PM which causes more trouble coz u won't get to rest properly, usually we end up being tired & lack of sleep, so I think this schedule can have a bit more change with regards to us children. The exams here are done very frequently, as in the class tests are taken up time to time , sometimes surprise tests are also done so u have to be very updated with what's being studied each cls.The internals are held in every trimester & at the end of the year a product exam is being held which is the important one.

Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. The Admission steps include 1)register and appear for jee mains 2) Get jee rank and register on the Josaa Portal 3) Fill college and branch choices 4) seat allotment in rounds; upload documents and pay seat acceptance fees 5) final admission after physical document verification at Nit Rourkela....Read More

Discovering NIT Rourkela

I chose NIT rourkela based on my JEE rank, as this was the highest rated college I could get.It had good placements, had a high NIRF ranking and in comparsion to my other choices was the clear winner. The admission process takes place through JOSSA counselling for B.Tech.After being alloted a college on site registration takes place followed by hostel allocation and branch admission , a procedure that lasts about 6-10 hours. To avail admission you need to have a good JEE Main rank for which previous year cutoffs are available on the internet....Read More
