Remarks
The college can make good students but it dampens the personality of students. I remember coming out of college and still being scared of being late out at night. So many restrictions made me very passive . It made me think drinking is a bad thing although you cross the legal drinking age whole being in college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty simple if one attends class regularly. There are 3 quizzes two internals and 1 external. So a lot of exams and you need to have 75% attendance before internals too. I liked the concept of open book exams opted for 2nd internals. Quizzes are also imp in the long run. Relative grading is there which is also good. And passing in internals and externals was enough to get a B grade in EEE subjects
Placement Experience
The placements are really good and the placement cell is very hardworking. I myself got placed in a very respected big 4 with a package of above 6 lakhs. A lot of opportunities are provided especially for students from computer science related branches and it branch . Both Vellore and chennai campus have same placements and students from chennai ply to Vellore evertime for placements.
College Events
There are two events. Gravitas and Riviera. Rivera is more fun as it is a cultural event and you have holidays. Although they charge a lot for events which is again a money making event . All the events are money minting processes except few . The organisers earn a lot of money using thier business skills and mostly make the 1st years thier scapegoats
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible for merit quota and expensive for management quota. The college provides total transparency in fee breakdown and will charge what was initially shon. They don't cheat in any way. The hostel and mess fees are very reasonable according the the services provided.
Fees and Financial Aid
No i did not opt for any scholarship and education loan although if you are in top 3 you do get some amount as prize money every yeat
Campus Life
The campus life is great . Really awesome only that couples are looked in a de meaning way by teacher and guards. They will blow whistles in your ears if you get too close. The gender ratio is 4:1 in favour of guys. There are a lot of extra curricular options and it gives a lot of opportunities.
Hostel Facilities
It's better to take hostels if you want good facilities but there are too many rules and its better to take pgs if you want freedom. The rules are very absurd and the guards are more rude. They will not understand if it's your exam or a weekend night. They want students to be like trained animals in hostels.
Alumni/Alumna
I have no idea related to this as I had never reached out to anyone. Although a few of my juniors reached out to me and I tried to help them in every way possible
Admission
I cleared the VITEEE exam with 12k rank. Took electrical because everyone was taking it. Got the seat in merit quota. If your rank is more you pay more for the desirable Branch. Any branch is accessible if you have money. Ece got over just 500 rank before me and after that everyone was choosing EEE branch which prompted me to choose EEE. although I had planned to choose IT. The mass following nature is inherent.
Faculty
The level of faculty is below the level of students there. There is hardly any diversity in teachers as all are tamilians. Some among them talk very rudely to north indians with a lot of prejudice and prefer south indians. They also will not show any kind of mercy or use kind words while talking to students. They treat you like school children and laugh among themselves considering themselves superior beings although many students knew far more than the teachers there.
