Remarks

To conclude, you will have a satisfying experience in this college over the 4 years. Obviously, the college needs to develop the infrastructure and reach out to premier institutes like IITs, BITS, collaborate with them and conduct fests, competitions etc.

Entrance Preview

I took the TS EAMCET and my rank was a modest- 1530. The reason I opted this college lied in the fact that I had my interest in computer science and for this rank and owing to the fact that this college is apparently the best in Hyderabad, my home town. The twist here is that I didn't get the seat for my EAMCET rank but through my JEE MAINS rank which was - 8048.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I feel the course curriculum is relatively basic. There is a need to expand the course structure and explore what the industry is looking for right now and not mull over the obsolete curriculum. For example, the language Python is not included in the curriculum whereas it's a languages which has expanded the flexibility in coding and is sought after by many companies to give you a job.

Internships Opportunities

Companies like Deloitte offer internship to students. The stipend differs every year and last year, it was Rs 25,000 per month for a 2 month internship. Unfortunately, I have no clue about the experience as I am in my second year yet but from what I have heard from my seniors, it's tough to get the internship and once you get it, it helps you a lot in the future.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are relatively good with about 50+ companies attending the campus drive. The companies and their packages are - Microsoft - 10L (During 4/1) and 20L (During 4/2), Oracle - 9L, Deloitte - 8L, Next Education - 4.7L, Accenture - 4L, Infosys - 3.36L, Wipro - 3.6L about 8 people from CSE and IT combined were placed in Microsoft during 4/1 , the most sought after company.

College Events

4.5

The cultural fest of our college - Shruthi is conducted on a large scale with participants and audience from various colleges in Hyderabad. It includes, all dance styles, music shows, stand up comedy, band performances. It's a 2 day event and goes on till 10pm in the night. The tech fest - Sudhee is also conducted for 2 days and it holds various competitions of respective courses. For example, CSE HEADSTART event in the fest includes coding competitions, paper presentation, bug detecting and security. Finally, the biggest fest of CBIT, karpedium, is conducted every alternate year. This year is the first time am gonna experience it but from what I have heard, it's the best.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is, without any second thoughts, too expensive. It's around 5L for 4 years of engineering. For few it may sound reasonable but the outcome expected from such a huge fee is not adequate. Infrastructure needs to be developed, more recreational facilities must be provided, scholarships must be granted.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers scholarship to lateral entry students. I am not sure if any loan facility is granted by the college but I expect them to start giving if they aren't. Also, students must be granted scholarship based on merit, irrespective of the caste, something which is a problem in majority of Indian colleges.

Campus Life

4

Campus life and ambiance is amazing. Both the genders interact freely and there is an equal gender ratio, which I personally think, is a good sign for women. There are various sport competitions like Inter and Intra college cricket, football, volleyball, table tennis, basketball and there list is endless. The literature fest - Literatti conducts quality debate which render great possibilities to debate lovers to meet and argue with the best debaters in the city. Robotics workshops are conducted regularly and they are really good.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel facilities are modest again, just satisfying the basic needs. Albeit the mess food tastes good, the utensils aren't maintained properly which creates an aversion for the food. I have heard the hostelers often complain about slow WIFI network. That's a thing from where the college could start improving and check other complaints. Also, the college must think about renting some space to a food outlet like Dominos, Pizza Hut etc.

Alumni/Alumna

The students often reach out to the alumni and seniors who guide them in the best possible way. For example, my senior, Umith Chada gave me a lot of tips on what the companies are looking for in a person while offering jobs. I talk to him regularly. He told me to improve my verbal and analytical skills and learn something apart from the course curriculum.

Exam Structure

The exam schedule is precisely carried out with enough time to relax and prepare. The sufficient time allows students to explore the topics as they must be and not just mug up the notes and print them out in the exam sheets. Also, the lab exams are practically good as they rake a student's brain to think out of the box and the unprecedented questions prepare you to tackle the problems in less time.

Admission

I had to go the CBIT head office at Himayatnagar, Hyderabad, where I submitted my documents - Rank sheet, Intermediate Memo, Bonafide Certificate and other relevant documents. I paid my first year fee there too. Then, after few days, I had to go to the college, show the receipt and thus I joined this college.

Faculty

3.5

Other than computer science faculty and english department, I feel there is a need to increase the quality of the other courses' faculty. The communication skills aren't top notch and often lead to misinterpretation or disinterest among the students. The faculty is equipped with sufficient knowledge but they fail to deliver it. The positive aspect is the encouragement they instill in students to explore the opportunities and provide few resources to help them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
