Remarks
At times it feels like an army camp with rigid uniform rules and 8 lectures a day schedule. Academics is given the highest priority and there is hardly any extra curricular activities for the students to take part in. But yes one could always form clubs and initiate something of he/she wants or take part in intra college events in their own accord.
Entrance Preview
AIEEE - 34000, AIEEE B.Arch - 500. It was a 3 day counseling wherein student had to make a list online and they were allotted ed the colleges according to there branch and rank.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well. Since all the colleges in India follow AICTE norms. I doubt if there is something unique about my course curriculum. I do feel that it needs a revamp and I could see the change as we had much better hands on experience and a specific domain based research labs even the Microsoft Research Initiative.
Internships Opportunities
Yes they did had in-house internship programs with Barclays and Microsoft during pre-final year. Also a project/research based training were looked into throughout the course of 4 years for interested students. The stipend varied according to number of factors. It could be anywhere between Rs 7000 to Rs 10000/-.
Placement Experience
Almost all students who appeared for placements got placed. Companies like Accenture, MuSigma, TCS, Whirlpool, Wipro, NTT DATA, Microsoft, Deautche Bank, ICICI etc.
College Events
Technical - Various inter branch Technical events ie Seminars, Workshops, Quizzes, Debates etc. Cultural - Celebrating various festivals like Diwali, Holi etc. The fests had good footfall, guven the strength of the college and other colleges in the vicinity. It did see the footfall of over 10-12,000 throughout a 3 day even. Then there are different fests for PGDM,MBA students as well.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Compared to other colleges in the vicinity or Delhi NCR in general. Its sightly on the higher side. Not that expensive but still moderately expensive. The fee for B tech courses was Rs 1,35,000/- for each year exclusive of hostel and mess fees. So the year end expenditure would be roughly around Rs 2,10,000/-.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes. Some students who scored well were given special scholarships or less rigid in attendance norms. For others 75 percent attendance was mandatory which I feel is way too much.
Campus Life
The gender ratio was balanced enough at least for CS/IT branches. We had 3:2 ratio for boys:girls. Most students were from Northern India given the demographic. ICC was one of the society. The labs were well maintained and had enough resources to work on our projects. Microsoft also had the Innovation Center wherein students were given access to some paid resources like Cloud, licensed IDE's ,Hardware etc. Robotics and Debates were also part of the course. But not enough heed was given to them in order to make students more engaged in them. I hope that extra co-curricular will be given a priority as academics are not everything.
Hostel Facilities
I didn't avail hostel facilities par se. But it could be anywhere between Rs 20,000 to over 1 Lac depending on the accommodation. The college cafeteria, mess was okay. But only Vegetarian food was served. The quality was decent. There is a Pool Table and various other indoor games as well.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes. Special seminars were organised for pre final year student to interact with final year student so they could get an overview for the placements plus for Masters if one chooses to take that path.
Exam Structure
Yes, We had three internal exams and one external exam. And it was mandatory to appear in all of them unless marks were deducted from the final tally. It was indeed hectic as there was not much time in between the exams and it just felt like rushing into one exam from another.
Faculty
Yes. Mr Pradeep Malik was an exceptional professor when it comes to AI. The focus was given to each and every aspect of Machine Learning and Data Science and how it could relate to real life products that we do use. Apart from that Ms Neha Tyagi taught us Information Security and kept the whole batch engaged in various activities related to the subject.
