Remarks

Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is one of the top-notch colleges on the South campus. Admission is based on Merit (Class 12 Best 4). SBSC has a large number of Societies including some global names like Enactus and 180 Degrees Consulting. The Location of this campus is in the heart of south Delhi however it does count as an off-campus college since it is next to only 1 college ie. CVS.

Course Curriculum Overview

SBSC has one of the largest batch sizes and faculty for B.Com Hons making it an ideal college for commerce students. B.com Hons is ideal for students pursuing CA, ACCA or such courses and for those Commerce students who want to explore different career options and Post Graduation courses. There are 60 students in each section and a total of 480 per batch. The Student-Teacher ratio is roughly 20:1. Faculty for commerce courses is top-notch and the curriculum and Exams are as per the centralised DU system ie. Same for all colleges in DU.

Course Fees: INR 7500 per year

Internships Opportunities

SBSC has an Internship cell named Encode which organises Internship fairs. Some internships are also available through the Placement cell. However, you should focus on building your own contacts which will help you land relatively better internships than those offered through the colleges.

Placement Experience

B.com Hons is one of the Best courses of DU in terms of placement and this is particularly true at SBSC. Big 4 are regular recruiters at SBSC picking up 20-30+ students each. There are also some top-notch consulting companies such as Bain as well as ZS associates that recruit students. The highest package offered was by DE shaw at 20 lakhs PA. The average Package is around 5 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Delhi University is known for being a very affordable University with nominal fees and exponentially lower if you compare it to Private Colleges. In fact, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is one of the most affordable colleges in DU as the fees are about 7500 per year. Scholarship forms are available through the DU portal.

Campus Life

Fests have not been conducted this year due to Covid. The library is large with updated infrastructure and seating. The overall infrastructure of the college is also pretty good and sports facilities are also excellent with the TT table, Tennis court and a decent size ground. There are numerous Societies in SBSC such as Natuve (Theatre), Finance and Investment Society, Enactus, NSS and more.

SRCC- Asia's Best college experience

Placement Experience:

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.

A Detailed Review on ARSD College

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although, people say that B.Com doesn't have a great scope to it, I feel like there are many life lessons that we are taught during our college years. Since the introduction of NEP 2020, there has been a rather great emphasis on practical learning. In our college, we are asked for presentations and group projects to promote learning and communication. The presence of SEC and VAC also helps you develop your soft skills, groom your personality and live a happy and healthy life. Exams are help at the end of every semester. There are a few guides and PYQs with the help of which a student can prepare for these exams. They are relatively easy in my opinion and do not require extreme efforts. Overall, it's a great experience and a great opportunity to learn so many things.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose b.Com because I am from a commerce background. It is an open college class held only on Sundays classrooms are good but washrooms are average. Teachers are experienced and well-educated. Exams are held on every 6 months semester wise you have to study hard to clear exams.

Placement Experience:

Well I was very clear to go for MBA after completing the program so placement was never a big deal for me but there are few companies which come every year at the last sem for placements and 10-20% get good placement.

My experience at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College so far !!

To get admission into any college of University of Delhi you need to appear in CUET ( Common University Entrance Exam ). Cutoffs vary from college to college depending on how many students apply for that college. I simply chose SBSC over other colleges i was eligible for because it was the best option i had and since i didn't want to go to a girls college so preferred SBSC over DRC and IP and also over ARSD, SGGSCC and all other colleges at this level. I also got admitted in christ Bangalore ( Central Campus ) and Narsee Monjee ( Mumbai Campus ). But these institutions didn't seem worth it and Delhi University in general has a better reputation....Read More
