ALOK TRIPATHI's Review On UPES, Dehradun

I had joined this college through CAT score card. I had scored 75%tile in CAT exam and 94%tile in MAT exam. I opted this college because,this university provide specialist MBA course which is more useful for an engineer. Therefore, I have opted this course and university.

This is a really good course for engineer specially mechanical and electrical engineer. This course provide to commercial as well as financial knowledge to engineer which is very useful in the corporate life. This course is contains of finance, economics ,sector brief, risk assessment tool,operation related issue etc.

The university provide internship facility in top notch companies across India as well as overseas. I had been placed for my summer internship in NHPC,Chamera-2 located in Chabba district in Himanchal Pradesh.

Placement for jobs are very crucial for university. It was 90 % placement had done till may 2008 of my batch. Most of the tops companies visited to USES for placement but it was observed that only few companies hired student in bulk. So lot of preparation is required for placement in good companies.

I am not aware of the current fee structure of the university. I was paying Rs.100000 per semester as fee and apart from I had paid 10000 for industrial tour and was feeling that fee was higher side but university provide appropriate helps for bank loan.

I had not been offered any scholarship by the university. I had availed loan facility from the bank.

Campus was situated in Dheradun which is surrounded by hills in three directions and it is really good place of studding it is around 20 KM from the main city and a a lot of greenery are surrounded it ,during winter temperature falls around 3-5 degree Celcious.

It was semester system and each semester contains two exam first is called mid semester exam and other is called end semester exam. Quality of examination of really good and no cheating was allowed in the exam and it was fair and transparent system but I am personal feeling the during grading it was not transparent.

Faculty was really good at my time when I did my MBA from this college. Most of the facility was from industry who had completely understand the industry but there was a lot of scope for improvement in term of faculty. I would like to my sincere thanks to Mrs. Meenu Mishra and other faculty.
