Remarks

Having a score of 77.5%ile in CAT. I made a mind of filling BIMTECH, Balaji and Welingkar after having some words with my mentor. My interview process for Bimtech was on 24th February 2020, interview including written aptitude test and personal interview; for Balaji it was on 3rd March 2020, including written aptitude test, extempore, group discussion and also person interview and for Welingkar it was 8th March, including group discussion and personal interview. Soon after this, the lockdown got implemented because of Covid. Delaying the resulting process and making the students curious. The first mail I got was from BIMTECH, and then Balaji. Converting both of them. I made a choice of going to Bimtech. Because of its name and as I am from Chandigarh, Bimtech is nearby to my place. Also I had a few discussions for this with my mentor and alumni. The result for Welingkar came after so long, that I've already submitted the fee and I'd made my mind. Because of Covid, we lack the main exposure.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I'm a student of Bimtech, currently pursuing a PGDM in marketing. Bimtech provides with various courses, like, PGDM (core), PGDM-IB, PGDM-IBM and PGDM-RM. Under core, we can further opt for Marketing, Finance, Human Resource and operations. For opting for finance, you need to take paper for this. I chose marketing as I am really interested in doing this. I'm an extrovert, sociable and innovative person and find myself comfortable doing marketing than any other courses. The faculty is really good, having a lot of experience in their field and have an impressive background. Most of the teachers are from top B-Schools and also have good work experience. The faculty to students ratio is around 1:30. First, two trimesters are basically theory based. We are taught about the main subject. While in the third trimester we have simulation for different subjects, making it more interesting to learn. Quiz and projects are given for each subject on a regular basis. Internal assessment is for 50 marks.

Internships Opportunities

2

There are only a few companies coming with a good profile or stipend. Lots of companies are without stipend. Almost 70% of the students got internship by now, but still, not everyone is happy with this. Few good projects are also coming which we can do along with our internship. For marketing mainly sales profile is coming.

Placement Experience

2.5

Avg placement is around 7 lakhs and the highest is around 13 lakhs and a min of 5 lakhs. Most of the people get around 6-8 lakhs of the salary. Almost 100% are placed, except those who want to work on their own. I want to work as a Market research analyst.

Fees and Financial Aid

Bimtech offers different courses and has a different fee structure from them. It charges 12 lakhs as tuition fees. Along with that hostel facility is compulsory for all and that costs around 4 lakhs. So the overall cost goes up to 16 lakhs. Because of the pandemic, there was no hike in tuition fees this year. Scholarship of 2 lakhs is given to those who equal or scores more than 85% in CAT/XAT. Students scoring good marks in their trimesters have the opportunity to get the scholarship as well. The top two positions from each section are taken out and a scholarship of 50,000 and 25,000 is given to the students securing 1st and 2nd position respectively. The avg salary is around 6-7 lakhs. Highest package 13 lakhs and lowest of 5 lakhs. Almost all of the students get the internship. This time many of the students have to without stipend or with very less stipend.

Campus Life

2.5

Campus life at Bimtech is really nice. Providing with all the requirements. The campus is nice and Greenery all around. An attractive library. Bimtech is fully air conditioned and wifi available for the students. The classrooms are having "U" Shape tables so that everyone is visible and participates actively and also comfortable chairs. Also, there are high tech touch screens in every class. There are many competitions organized by different clubs and conduits of the college. Clubs and conduits including Ecell, CCR, Bizmark, Finwiz, Eco Chamber, Majlis, CSR, UFE, QCB, Palette, 22 yards, foot and boot etc. Every club and conduit has a faculty as it's a mentor. Also, all of these clubs are run by the students Basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court and table tennis court are also there in Bimtech. Also, these courts along with football court are also there in RCI (Boys hostel - outside Campus)

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel life is always fun and one should have it once in their life. Bimtech has two hostels. One is on campus and another one is off campus. Off campus is for first year boys and second year Boys (IB, RM, IBM) it is on double sharing purpose. On campus, the hostel is for girls and second year PGDM (core) boys as well. All the PGDM core girls and boys of the second year and also PGDM-IB girls will get single sharing rooms. RM, IBM girls get double sharing rooms There are many clusters in a hostel. Each cluster contains 4 rooms and one common room. Each room having one single bed, almirah, table, chair, pinboard etc. In the common room, there is a refrigerator and a TV as well. For every four girls, there is one washroom (separate toilet and bathing) On every floor, there is on microwave and water dispenser. The hostel also provides laundry services and iron services as well. Though a student can wash or iron their clothes by themselves also. There is a washing machine and one iron press also

Interview Experience

4

Admission was held in two phases, first in December and the other one in February. The cost of filling the form was Rs 2000. And they admission timings were as follows: Morning batch - 8:30 am Afternoon batch - 12:30 pm. During our Recruitments in 2020, selection criteria include a written aptitude test and then a personal interview. 10-15 minutes was given to write upon the topic. And after that, there was an interview. Faculty from Bimtech were taking our interview. The most important thing is to write in your resume only what you actually know. The interview was around the person and his/her background only. Suppose I tell the interviewer that I want to pursue marketing, then they will ask questions related to that only. The interview totally depends on how you drive it. You should know your past subjects and if you have any work experience then about that also. Know about your city, read newspapers etc for general knowledge questions.

As soon as you enter the 3rd semester you become eligible to seat in placements. The placement is really good here at this fee. Lots of small companies come here and some of the well-known companies also come like airtel, phone pay, axis bank, utkarsh bank, HCl, tcs, and others. The package most of the companies provide here is between 4 to 6 lakhs. But almost every student are placed here in my senior batch almost 90% of students have been placed till now.
