KJ somiaya is one of the oldest and topmost MBA colleges in India. The faculty is highly qualified with years of experience. The campus is huge 60 acres in Mumbai. The admission process is very smooth and transparent.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum of KJ is according to industry standards. It is upgraded every year based on industry requirements. The faculty is highly experienced and student-friendly. Case discussion and simulations help students to take decisions in real-world scenarios quickly.

The summer internship is very good at KJ Somaiya. Top companies start visiting the campus early to select top students. Also, 100% of the batch gets SIP. Packages are also very good for students. PPO is offered to those who perform well in the SIP.

The hostel facility is very good. There are twin sharing and Tripple sharing rooms for students to choose from. I chose twin sharing and the prize was INR 163500. Food quality is good and the menu upgraded every few days.

The admission process is very smooth. It is conducted for students in their home states and multiple dates are given to choose from. First GD round is there, my topic was ethics and business go hand in hand. Then PI was conducted.

after 3rd sem companies starts visiting the college , highest package for this year is 28 lps as of now , avg is 13 lpa, my plans are getting into a good fmcg company. percentage ad of now is 70 % , there is quite a few of no of companies visiting

Students are eligible for campus placements from starting of the second year. The placements commence then and continue till everyone is placed. Being a young college, the placements are improving on a yearly basis with new companies being onboarded. The average package stands around 12-13LPA.

Remarks:

I had honestly applied in only a selected number of colleges, as I was doing really well in my coaching and was always among the top 2. Since, I was expecting a lot from myself, it created performance pressure and I went blank during the actual CAT examination. So SDA bocconi was among the top 2 options that I had. It is less than a decade old and has still managed to provide good placements. The most fascinating part is the entire semester in Bocconi,Milan which is the 21st best college in the world and 7th in Europe. I also spoke to many aluminis and hardly got to hear anything that will stop me from taking admission in SDA bocconi. Plus, the advantage of the college being in a city like Mumbai has it's own advantages.

The selection criterion includes cut-off cleared scores of CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ NMAT/ GMAT, a GD-PI round, past academic records and work experience if any.
