LPU provides admission and scholarship on various parameters, namely LPUNEST Entrance Exam, 12th Merit Score, and JEE Mains result. Most of the students clear some of the other scholarships. The fees are not as high as other private universities. An additional Examination fee of Rs.5000 is collected every semester end. Infrastructure and facilities are world-class. The faculty is pretty decent and has adequate subjective knowledge. The mode of communication in classes is mostly English. Placements are just average, but few companies offer a lucrative package. The total strength of B.Tech students enrolled is very high. LPUNEST entrance examination takes place multiple times a year, 1st round of applications and exam starting from January. Questions are pretty easy. Subjects are PCM/PCB + English. The course curriculum is vast and covers almost all the subjects required for the academic and personal growth of the students. Choice of minors is provided to the students, beginning from the 5th semester. The college provides almost all the minors available for this course. In addition to it, a large number of personal enhancement courses are provided for the overall development of the students. On average, the faculty members are moderately experienced. A number of them have completed their PhD and some of them have patents as well. Their methods of teaching in online mode are through PPTs and PDFs, using digital writing pads alongside. The mode of conversation is mostly in English. The platform used in online classes and exams is CodeTantra which is highly foolproof and pretty engaging, thus, meets the expectations. Questions are MCQs based and there is a provision of negative marking of 25% and 2 minutes per question. Each student is allocated a personal mentor for guidance.

The college provides various opportunities for summer training and on-campus internships from 3rd year onwards. Companies provide hands-on and practical experience to the students. Although the number of companies offering internships is not as large as companies offering placements, yet the students who build their skill set get internships in their desired companies. I have personally not applied for internships so far, so I would not be able to provide an accurate description of roles and project outcomes. The highest internship stipend offered to date is Rs 80,000 per month.

The placements offered are average. Although, the number of companies visiting the campus is enormous. Around 550+ companies visit the university for on-campus placement rounds every year. Out of these, the number of companies offering dream packages is relatively small. The highest package offered is CTC Rs 42 LPA by Microsoft. Dream companies such as Amazon, Adobe, Arcesium, Goldmann Sachs, Intel, etc visit the campus every year, but only a few students are hired by these recruiters. Most of the students get hired by mass recruiters at an average package of 4-5 LPA. 610 students of LPU got hired by Cognizant in a single day last year, making it a world record in itself. The mass recruiters include- Cognizant, Capgemini, Bosch, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, etc. College provides placement assistance in all possible manner, but ofcourse, clearing interview rounds is the responsibility of the candidate.

The fees for B.Tech CSE batch 2020 was Rs.98000 per sem, which remains constant without a hike for all eight semesters. Although, the fees get hiked every year for new batches as per the discretion of the authorities. An additional fee of Rs.5000 is collected at the end of every semester as Examination Fees. Apart from this, there are no hidden fees. Most of the students clear some of the other scholarship slabs. There are basically 3 scholarship slabs- 45%, 35%, and 25%. These scholarships are offered on the merit of 12th Board examination percentage, JEE mains percentile, and LPUNEST scores. A number of scholarships are also offered to students on various grounds, such as sports, research, etc extending up to full tuition fee waiver and other benefits. It is very easy to clear at least some scholarship. Other expenditure includes residential, food, gym and sports facilities if opted. A number of part-time jobs are offered on campus, like admission helpdesk, library management, etc.

The campus life is amazing. LPU has its own animal, uni-hospital, and a dedicated Department of Student Welfare. There are 3 auditoriums, out of which one has a seating capacity of 20000+. LPU has 11 branches of its library within the campus with 20 lakh+ books, journals, magazines, and newspapers. Sports facilities are world-class. Almost all the sports embrace their presence at LPU. A number of national as well as international sports competitions take place here. It has more than 500 clubs and student organizations run by students in its entirety. Any student can start his own club by satisfying the criteria. A large number of Fests take place within the campus from time to time. The biggest ones being Spectra, One-India, One-World, Section of the Year, etc. Various Fests, seminars, events take place almost every single day. The campus is 100% drug-free and is completely safe and secure.
