Good and Bad Aspects

LPU is considered the Best Private University in India and I agree it lives up to the expectations. The good aspects of the college surpass the bad aspects. Reasons why students join LPU as fresher:- LPU has a beautiful and enormous infrastructure, best in Private colleges and better than many IITs and NITs. The fee structure along with various scholarships gives enough financial benefits to the students. The year I joined LPU was 2020, the academic fee was Rs.98000 per semester for the CSE BTECH branch but I got a 35 % scholarship (through above 90 % in 12th Board criteria ) so the fee was reduced to Rs.63700 per semester. LPU has great student diversity, students come to study here from different countries so if you are joining the college you may get friends from the USA, Africa, Bangladesh, etc. Statistics of the college placements are decent too. Now, the strength: LPU has above 30k students including all branch and nearby 4-5k students in CSE alone so there is a lot of competition.

Let me be frank here, LPU teachers are not the best, but they have enough knowledge to make students understand things. To speak about the qualification of the faculty members, they are well qualified and their teaching method is quite practical, they try to explain by giving real-world examples. The course curriculum is easy to moderate level, sufficient to get good grades in term exams and it is easy to pass the exams too as the questions are from the course only but if you are looking to crack Interview, coding rounds you need to study more advance topics apart from course subjects. The student ratio is decent here, there are a lot of teachers in LPU to teach different sections. Assignments in LPU are given throughout the course period and Midterm, End Term Exams are conducted midway and at the last of a semester respectively. Studying CSE has always been a passion for me and this field (CSE/IT) is one of the most demanded fields in the aspect of jobs and requirements in life.

Students are eligible for off-campus internships from any year if they have the required knowledge to avail of the internship but on-campus, internships open only after 3rd year. The highest stipend offered in LPU for an internship was Rs. 80000. Roles offered in an internship are Search Engine Optimization(SEO) Intern, Content Writer Intern, Sales/ Marketing Intern, etc. Students get internships from various reputed Companies like Bosch, Intel, Tech Mahindra, Amazon, TCS, etc.

The data or the statistics of Past years College placements are evident of LPU's good placements. The average salary students get is 4-5 LPA. Now this average is also based on various student's capacity not everyone is a good student so if you are a student with determination and goal you are bound to get good placements from LPU. The HIghest package was taken by Tanya Arora at Microsoft in 2019 of 42 LPA in the engineering branch (lakh per annum). There are 800+ Recruiters who come to LPU as per 2020 stats, with 250 + companies offering dream packages. Some reputed companies who visit Lpu include Capgemini, Infosys, TCS, Adobe, HP, LG, Zomato, Amazon, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc. As LPU has huge strength so it is rather difficult that all students to get placed in good companies, almost 60 % of students get placed from LPU each year. Students are eligible for on-campus placements after 3rd year and they are always eligible for internships if they have the required knowledge. I plan to get a decent package.

The fee waiver policy is very good in LPU, students get atleast any one scholarship. Scholarships are offered to students who: 1. Clear LPUNEST exam. 2. Score above 80 % in 12th. 3. Score good percentile in JEE MAINS exam. Financial assistance is provided to every student if they need it, various loan assistance banks have tied up with LPU to help students financially. LPU provides huge opportunities to students regarding on-campus placements, various reputed Companies visit LPU to hire the best among all the students and if students secure internships they are given a stipend by taking into consideration the intelligence of the student accordingly. The fees hike policy in LPU is not quite praisable. The fee has been increased from Rs 98000 to Rs 120000 per semester in a year for BTech CSE.

The thing is I don't have adequate knowledge regarding campus life at college as we are sadly the unluckiest batch who are attending online classes since the course started due to Corona but as far as I know by learning from Youtube Videos and seniors that living in the campus is altogether a different experience with such a beautiful infrastructure, friends by our side, this 4 years really are memorable for every college visiting student. There are various Clubs in LPU namely Blackcurrent, Yuva, Blaze, all have one common functionality- overall improvement of a student. LPU library is huge and it remains open after midnight also so students living in the hostel can visit the library at midnight to issue some books if required. Various sports clubs and programs are being conducted on campus. Gym, Swimming pool, Basketball, Football court all are available for a student in exchange for a certain amount of money. Classrooms, Hostels, Mess in LPU are fully hygienic as I have witnessed.
